Thats a start. Hang out with friends. Let time work its magic. Its hard because it doesn't happen overnight. Try to do things to think of him less and less, and eventually you will rarely think of him at all.

Is the 'friend' who told you to date others, your boyfriend or a different friend? If it's your boyfriend, you'll have to figure out if you can work things out or if you should just respect his wishes and move on. If it's another friend, find out why they think you should date others... is there something you're not aware of? In the end, follow your heart, it's seldom wrong, just breakable unfortunately. If you really love someone, you can set them free as the saying goes, sometimes it's just really hard and requires a lot of effort and time, but you can do it! Good luck

It hard to stop loving someone that u have loved. I have gone through, that. I thought that if I dated it would help me to stopping loving him. But it just mad it worse, and it wasn't fair to the guys that I was dating. They were just to help me try to stop loving him. After so long I guess it just fades away. The absence of that person, u will love him but that being in love with him will be gone. Don't rush it, it takes time.

i do have some experience i can share... not sure if you should do as i do, but it is what is pulling me through... i had been in a 5 year relationship that was doomed from the start. it has taken me a long time to get to the point where i don't care if i haven't heard from him today... it is just mind over matter... if you want to stay depressed and in love you will, if you REALLY don't want to, then you have to make yourself get out there in the world.... I have been hanging with just my SINGLE friends here lately cause they are always out and about.... it helps... stay away from NOT single friends.. it will make you want to call him....
Good Luck!!!
p.s.
we have been broke up since october... and i haven't dated yet... i really just don't want to right now... do it when YOU are ready!!

You can date other people all you want, but if you ever truly loved him he will always have a place in your heart. whether you want him to or not . youll always compare other guys to him also , whether you mean to or not. and if you do find a way to get over him pass it around because theres some people going through the same situation that would love to also stop loving people.

Date people. Not relationships... just dating. It will help you realize what you want and need in any future relationship, and also helps you realize he's not the only one out there for you.

1) Give yourself time
2) Perform a honest insight and see if that's what you really want.
3) Wait until things really heal.
4) Don't date other guys, you are still open wounded. it will not be healthy for you.
