Compared to Heaven, Hell is relatively smaller; but is filled with all kinds of sinners of all races. The ratio of the number of occupants of Hell to Heaven is 99:1. Which means 99 out of 100 people will go to Hell. This doesn't sound promising to all of us does it?
The crossing over Hell is in the form of a bridge with the 1st portion of the bridge going uphill at an incline, the middle is level or flat whilst the 3rd portion downhill.
If you can imagine - if one were to walk on the bridge over Hell it'll take one 1,000 years to cover the uphill incline portion, another 1,000 years to cover the level portion and yet another 1,000 years to cover the 3rd portion going downhill. That's the size of HELL! Beyound the 3rd portion will be Heaven!

It is as big as you make it. Your Hell belongs to you and you can furnish it with all the ignorance torward reality as you choose. Likewise Heaven is yours and your proximity to God is dependent on the closeness you resemble His attributes.
You are close to a friend by sharing the friends values and interests. That is what makes spiritual space. You are distant spiritually from an enemy because you share not the enemy's ideas. Get it?

If you read The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis you will find that Hell is very very small.. the souls don't take up much room because Love doesn't dwell there.

The only physical description I've ever come across in the Bible of Hell's size is where it says that "Hell hath ENLARGED her mouth BEYOND MEASURE (impossible to gage it's size!)....." I'd say it will be more than enough.
