Why say "I love you" when you mean "I care".
why say "I missed you" when you mean "How are you?"

Geezus! So many talk above that "L" word!!!

Debbie, I believe Love exist, but the way it is misused this days. You are led to believe you are loved until its over!
If Love is such a beatiful thing, why do lovers come and go yet friends stay with us no matter what?

Agree w/ Turdla! Lust is the word that should B used instead of Love. By the time the Lust is satisfied, the LOVE has been 2 & someone wants 2 go back to being friends. Why is that soo???? I guess i should start saying "I lust you" instead of "I love you" and see what happens. LOL

Merry Christmas!

Absolutely. I probably fall in love way too easy. I try to always tell the "loved one" what I feel because I ascribe to the Garth Brook's theory about if tomorrow never comes. See lyrics below. Life's too short and anything can happen at any time.

Freeman geeze, don't be such a cynic!!! It does exist. I believe.

Edit: You're right, you're told you're loved until you find out it's over. That has happened to me more times than I care to count, but I don't let that get me down. I have to keep believing in the dream. I have to think there is that perfect person out there for me. If I stop believing I will lose hope. And that's all I have now.

Why are all you alls so timid about the "L" word? Love is an all encompassing virtue that could weed out a lot of the sickness and negativity we have to put up with so much. Don't want to freak you out, but check out "unconditional love" and think THAT over.
As powerful as the term "independent" seems, I much prefer the rarely used "interdepenent"..like we're all
connected or something.
Love, or the idea of it, creates a sense of community, which we all could use, because ultimately, human beings are tribal. Don't be so quick to diss the "L" word, when it is such a great healer in our lives.
Granted, it's often the most misunderstood term of all time as well, but it's a personal responsibility to seek to understand it.

The L word has been misused and overused......I have been guilty of it. Right now I am involved with a wonderful man but I am not going to tell him until I am sure that is what it is. The guy I was with before him.....I love him but we split because he thought I was out creeping...mind you our whole relationship was based on honesty and trust and I had never broke that . I am giving this new guy a chance because i know I deserve better and I am going to get better. so I think I have learned my lesson.

Its called love addiction, it is a form of codependency. It also derives from some sort of abandonment issues, low self esteem, and bad boundaries. This is a very complicated addiction and is being accepted in to more 12 step programs around the US.

Wow. Are you reading my mind today, or what??

I completely agree. The love word is definitely abused. Love is a powerful emotion. Why do people just throw it around?

I can name a certain individual who loves to throw it around... I won't name names...

hehe yes i know what you mean! i think people don't understand the difference between types of love and far too many people also equate marriage with wedding when they are two totally separate entities!

You should say what you truly feel. Otherwise, you are being misleading. And that is neither honest nor fair.
