if you eat only 1000 calories a day, yes you will lose weight. However, if your primary meal of the day is supper, you will lose it slowly because the last meal of the day, for the most part is stored as fat. You need to make your major meal for the day your breakfast, it fuels your body's needs thru the day and none of it is stored as fat.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Your metabolism will slow down if you continue to eat that little, and you will most likely begin storing MORE fat than before.

Starving yourself to lose weight is a bad idea.

Eat at or just below your maintenance calories and take up some light exercise (walking, swimming, cycling or jogging) for 30-50 minutes a day. Avoid saturated/trans-fats, eat plenty of vegetables and a limited amount of fruit (to avoid too much fructose). Avoid sugar and processed foods.

there is such a thing as too little calories. this puts your body into a starvation mode where it will be a lot harder than normal to drop body fat. also, if you are weight lifting at all you will see no muscle gains eating this little because muscle is extremely active tissue and takes a lot of extra calories to both build and maintain. eating too few calories for too long a time will actually make your body start breaking down muscle tissue just so it can have energy to run basic functions like breathing, heart rate and other cellular functions.

you will lose almost as much muscle as you do fat being physically active on such a low calorie diet. you should never consume less calories than "your" BMR requires or metabolic function will decrease
