It's a shame really but i think all this is due to ignorance and largly to do with media coverage...for some reason the media has lost touch with sharing the truth and decided to share their version of the truth instead which means Muslims and other religions are in trouble. Quite sad eh?

Do you know that Islam the fastest growing religion right now? After 911 some staunch sceptics have actually embraced Islam.
And are you so sure that 911 was the work of Muslims? And because of 911 Muslims worlwide have been bashed around for no faults of theirs?
Some claim they have studied Islam and fully understood its teachings; but I doubt this. Islam is a proper way of life, guided by the principles as laid down by God Himself throught His last prophet, Muhammad (pbuh) in the form of the Quran & the prophet's traditions & hadiths.
There is so much to learn from the teachings of Islam. You just cannot pick only the obvious & the trivials to put up your case or arguments against Islam.

I don't think it is right to throw hateful remarks at any people, but the main stream ideas of Islam are concerning. I don't understand why you don't hear Muslims oppose the wide spread use of Jihad. Where are the Muslims when extremists declare fatwas against reformists? Leaders of Islamic countries make open declarations to drive Israel into the sea. They use Palestinians as pawns, yet not allowing them refuge in neighboring countries. Any minority is treated as second class citizens in a tribal based society. I agree that all religions have had their faults. In regards to the Holocaust; history should be used as a lesson, and not a defense.

Firstly, it may possibly be you who needs educating. The horrors of the Holocaust were not perpetrated in the name of religion.
Secondly, of course it's wrong to bash Islam, or any other faith. No rational person would disagree.
But when every day we are hearing and reading about young girls murdered by their own fathers in the name of Islam, just because they refused to hide their faces, then naturally people will question and challenge the religion advocating the practice and doctrine.

sounds like you need the education...why would anyone hate Christianity for the holocaust?? that occurred because of pure evil that has nothing to do with whatever childhood background those evil doers had....
for what reason would I or anyone chose to waste the time checking out another religion?? with everything else that I need to get done, set aside time to study God's word in some fashion....I am not going to waste time on some thing that is of no benefit to anyone....
a tree is known by its fruit.....if you were so peaceful the news would not be wasting their time on you because you would be boring....

I don't hold all muslims responsible but 9/11 was pretty disgusting - it was never going to make Islam more popular. The bad impression non-muslims have of muslims unfotunately comes from the extremists in your own community. Deal with the idiots yourselves and I think more people will have respect for your religion.

it was not christianity that caused the holocaust. it was the actions of men. men whom claimed to be christian. it doesnt mean they were. i admit i dont know about muslim religion. and i dont hate them. but i HEARD on here yesterday, someone said(not a muslim)thier bible tells to kill anyone that does not believe in thier way. i dont know if it is true, but if it is that is a horrible thing. and i cant believe any true religion to God, would uphold such sinnful acts. i believe religions may have faults, but they derive from its members and thier personal faults and sins.

I agree that we shouldn't bash Muslims for 9/11. These guys were obviously a dangerous fringe. But you can't say that no one hates Christianity for things that have occured in the past (particularly if you look at these boards) -esp. the crusades. Christians are routinely lambasted here and in other places as well.

I think Muslims also shouldn't be soft skin, nor should they be aggressive. There are people from many different religions or ethnicities who had been bashed by others at some point. Muslims should learn from others. They shouldn't lock themselves & let the gap of distrust increase!

The holocaust had nothing to do with Christianity, despite the participation of many Christians.
I have made a great effort to learn about the Muslim religion, and I have observed that the way in which it is practiced in the majority of the world (that is, in the non-Westernized population), it is backward, barbaric and inconsistent with forwarding the human race. In the Westernized flavor (the minority of world's Muslims) it is no different than any other major religion.
How can you reasonably argue otherwise?

Many people in the world do not recognize Islam as a religion just a lifestyle( see Higgins book god is not great) . When you do here about Islam, all most people in the world here are about the atrocities this "religion" promotes :pedophilia, murder, rape, beating of women, injustice to women, hate.lying to non Muslims, stealing from non Muslims, hatred of other religions, intolerance of others.
