It's unusual to have a fungus on the hand. Fungus usually grows in dark, moist areas. Have it checked out by the Doc.

DON"T SOAK IN BLEACH!!! Trust me on that one. Over the counter antifungals should do the trick but they take a while and need regular applications as fungal infections are tricky to treat. Its not uncomon for fungal infections to last for months. Antibacterials will do nothing. Studies have been completed on using 10% tea tree oil onto fungal infections twice per day to the affected area. This is cheap, safe and natural. I recomend this if the antifungals don't work. May need a steroid cream from doctor if none of this works.

He could try an over the counter anti fungal agent like Tinactin or similar - have him ask the pharmacist what he recommends if in doubt. If that doesn't do it a dermatologist can prescribe something stronger.

When I was younger, I had a fungus growing under finger and toe nails. I went to the doctor and they had me soak my hands and feet in bleach. It smells really bad, but it works.

Good luck to your friend.

Tea tree oil killed my toenail fungus so it might work on the skin type fungal infection, too.

Get some Selsun Blue shampoo and rub it on the area before you shower. Keep doing this until the problem is sovled and then keep doing it for a while after just to make sure it doesn't resurface.

Or go see a doctor.
