My colds are usually really bad: sore throat, barely able to speak, really scratchy voice for like a week afterwards with a runny nose and coughing after the worst part has gone away(the sore throat).
They usually only last 2 days or so, but this cold that I have right now, has been here for 4 days now. I really need to get rid of this! What can I do to help get rid of it? Yes, I know, halls... but halls literaly make me ill and I don't know why. There is only one kind I can stand and after it's gone, everything just comes back.
Also, if you know a good way of getting rid of a scratchy voice afterwards, that would help too!

Thanks!

Zicam really works! I use their nose drops at night before bed and losenges during the day when any sign of a cold appears and I have not had a full blown one in 5 years. Try it, it is one product that does what it is advertised to do.

I never let it get that far, but it is supposed to work even if you already have the cold.

Rest really helps. It has to run it's course. Take vitamins like C to help move it along and Zinc lozenges for your sore throat. Chicken soup is great because it has goodies in it that break up mucus in throat, lungs and nose.

Drink plenty of liquids; water, hot tea (green tea boosts the immune system, chamomile helps with congestion), stay away from sugary things and dairy (which helps create mucus).
