Assuming your wedding is on a Saturday, you'll want to take off the Friday before. Then you will leave for your honeymoon on Sunday, so you may want to take off the Monday after you return in order to recover from the trip. So in all you would take off 7 days from work.

I'm leaving my work 2 weeks before my wedding. Because I am moving 4 hours away and have to find a new job & set up my new house! And I'm also taking 3 weeks after the wedding, 1 for the honeymoon and 2 to get settled before starting a new job!

Take at least 2 days before the wedding, but if you have the time, take 3 or 4, just to relax. If you are returning from your honeymoon on a Friday or Saturday, you wont really need to take time off after, the Sunday should be enough and you will be ready on Monday to get back to your normal life, but if you return on a Sunday at least take that Monday off just to come down off your high and rest.
Best of luck!

I would take 2 to 3 days before the wedding but if you can afford to and your work schedule permits it, take a week off before the wedding! Which ever your case maybe the days you take off prior are to finish tying off all the many loose ends left to tie! Sometimes these last days can be very hectic and you find that you left too many little details to handle at the last minute. Plus I would advice you to take a few days off after returning from the honeymoon. You will need a vacation by then!!! All in all you need time prior and after to give yourself time to get things done in accordance and with a timely manner and not get all hay wired and stressed out right before the wedding. This should be days filled with fun...little stressful but try to ease as much of the stress as you possibly can! When you return you will want to just enjoy a few days of reality! lol Plan things in advance and take care of them ASAP....Good Luck and Have Fun!!!

only 1 day before the wedding...because any more time than that and you'll be running around stressing out about what to do...that and if you take off more than that you'll be saving things to do for those days...not a good idea. For after I would say come back on a Friday and then you have saturday and sunday to recoup from the honeymoon and your ready for work Monday morning

I'd say at least 2 days before, and then at least 2 days after your honeymoon ends as it is horrible having to go back to work the day after a holiday. I took a week off before the wedding and then had 2 weeks off after, we had a week in Egypt following the wedding and then a week at home to relax before going back to work.

I took off at noon the Thursday before I got married, and I had a 5-night honeymoon, and I took off that whole next week after the wedding, and the following Monday. That Friday before the wedding was HECTIC, going to the florist, get the dresses, catering last-minute things, church decorating, just so many things to do!

I took off work for one day before the wedding and two days after the honeymoon. It worked out great.
If I'd taken more than one day before the wedding, I'd have been a nervous wreck. Working gave me something else to think about. I used one of the days after the honeymoon to just hang out at home with my husband, open our wedding gifts, deposit checks, and relax (I need time to unwind after a trip). On the other day, I went all around town filling out all the forms that I needed to change my name. Because it was midday during the week, I didn't have to wait in line anywhere.

If you are lucky enough to be able to, take the week before your wedding off. You may think this is a lot of time, but unless you have an awesome wedding planner, you will have more to do that week than you realize. If you can't take the week before off, take from Wed., Thu., and Friday off.
After the wedding, depending on how long your honeymoon is, take a week to two weeks off. That would be enough time to re-coup after a long trip.

I am taking off the Thursday and Friday before. My wedding is on a Saturday. We leave for our honeymoon on Monday and return the following Monday. Thinking about taking off that Tuesday as well to get everything in order, name change forms etc. Good luck.
