Hey guys have you noticed that we are paying a lot more than we should for the PS3 than some other regions. we are paying £299 for it which is about $613 which is almost double than what the americans pay which is $399. Were not alone other countries are paying more than others so why the huge difference were not exactly goin 4 the top model and yet the price is hurendous. The amount we pay for the 40gb version is nearly the equivalant of gettin a 80gb version in the US and other regions.

Biggest reason is TAX (and if you import it you may have to pay import duty on it - if customs spot it) it's the same for all white goods (TVs, etc)

It's probably based on the strength of the US dollars versus the strength of the Euro.

Or it could just be that Sony needs to sell it at a higher price in the UK because the UK isn't exactly a gaming mecca like the US and Japan. Fewer people buying games, so Sony needs to charge more to cut their loss.

Or it could be that Sony is giving the UK and other countries the shaft.

now day's the u.s dollor falls and the eruo is rising. so it's like this, 5,000 u.s dollors is equal to 6,000 Canadian dollors.
i know that cuz i live in canada.
But if you are think about getting a ps3 through amazon or something like that, don't count on it because for every PS3 systems there is a code in the ps3. the code is different for each contenent.
like if the ps3 code for the u.s is 2341 then the code for u.k or europe is 164332.
you can alway's get your code changed but, it would cost you alot!!!

The consoles in the US and UK do have differences. 1st one is that the US runs on NTSC and UK runs on the PAL systems so those components are different.
Also the shipping cost
