For her just to be totally into it. Some deep kisses, some neck nibbling, hands caressing different parts of the body. A few soft moans, that's cool. I want to know she's enjoying it!
Turnoffs would include just sitting there - eyes closed and trying to only kiss, her worrying about messing up her hair or makeup.
Here's another turnoff - if we're in private and deep into making out, feeling the body and all. Then I go to open the bra and she either deflects my arm, or doesn't move to make it easier to open - I get the hint. But please, just be open and say something like "I'm not ready for that yet" . Okay, I understand that and can respect that. Don't pretend like nothing is happening. In other words -communicate!
But you have the right attitude - trying to improve your skills.
