person1: Do you want a coke?
person2: sure, what kind do you have?
person1: big red, dr. pepper, and sprite.
person2: I'll take a big red. Thanks.
person1: Anyone else want a coke?

It really depends on what part of the US you are from. In the south soft drinks are called coke, no matter if its fanta or mountain dew. At the drive thru you will be asked, what kind of coke do you want? The south also uses the term soda. In the north, its called pop.

Do you mean Coke OR Pepsi?
Coke IS Soda!

The term soft drink (more commonly known as pop, soda, or soda pop in parts of the United States and Canada, or fizzy drinks in the U.K.; sometimes called minerals in Ireland) refers to drinks, often carbonated, that do not contain alcohol.

You say yes and then we tell you if we have coke, diet coke, 7-up, sprite, etc. It's all coke to begin with.
