Really- we come at any time of year all year round.
Just say you are busy now decorating your trees.
We do our part, the rest is up to you.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not come to your door to be a nuisance. We come because we want to share the good news about God's Kingdom (Matthew 24:14) Also, this time of year some people are actually thinking about Jesus more this time of year, not just shopping and wrapping presents.
We have been sharing a wonderful book entitled "The Greatest Man who Ever Lived." It details Jesus life and ministry. It is beautifully illustrated as well.
I personally think it would be more cruel to LIE to my children about a round man dressed in red coming down the chimney, than it is to deny them the opportunity to participate in a God dishonoring celebration that has pagan roots. In Bible times, when the Israelites participated in pagan celebrations, they angered God and lost his blessing, even to the point of becoming captives in the land of Babylon. I'm sure that means nothing to you, but according to the Bible, 'all things written aforetime are for our benefit', if we choose to learn from them.

I'm quite happy to say that I will never need your blood because I would never have a blood transfusion. That does not mean I value my life any less than anyone else. I value my relationship with Jehovah God and don't wish to do anything displeasing to him as we are instructed in the Bible at Acts 15:29, 29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!” There are many alternative and safer procedures to replace lost blood that doesn't involve the use of blood.
As for us knocking on your door, we are merely doing as Jesus instructed at Matt 28:19,20 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.
If people don't want to listen, that is their own decision but we have to give them the chance to say so.
As for celebrating Christmas, we don't want to get mixed up in celebrations that are from pagan origins.

Reading through some of the answers here, they feel they are doing you a favor by bothering you; and they are comfortable with the death of a loved one being more important than using techniques to save that life.
They compare themselves to Noah to justify their actions (and to imply correct beliefs). This is an argument from spurious similarity and a logical fallacy. As for blood transfusions, this is a line I would not cross, although they do have a point with an extrapolation of this thought to brain-dead clones for spare parts.

We can sympathize with you. Now we know how those poor people were back in Noah's day felt when that crazy Noah bothered the people about a coming flood, telling them about getting on ark to survive destruction. Noah must have been out of his mind bothering those people.
By the way, what happened to those people who refused to listen to Noah? Didn't they all drown?
Oh, and keep your blood. We will be fine, thank you.

We go to peoples houses all year round to share with them the wonderful truths found in Gods Word.
We do this in obedience to Jesus' command to his disciples found at Matthew 28:19,20.
Jehovahs Witnesses give freely of their time to do this. It is love of God and neighbor that compels us to put up with ignorant and rude people.
And it is love of our children that compels us to shield them from pagan teachings and celebrations such as Christmas.

We are there at your door at our expense in all kinds of weather because you are worth something to God. He told us to keep knocking and maybe you will see the light before he brings this world to it's conclusion.
Noah preached for 40 years while he built the Ark. He pleaded with people to listen. They ridiculed him also.
He lived and they died.
But...God sent his messengers to sound the warning.
Consider yourself warned.
