Remember, the thief on the cross was promised eternal life from Jesus...........it's never too late.

I think there will be some surprised people in heaven. Anyone who repents and God knows if they mean it, will be saved even if they never do one bit of work. Even if they lived a life of hating and killing, if their last day alive is spent seeing who they really are in the eyes of God, and realize they need a saviour and accept that Jesus died for them and they repent and believe, they will be saved.

Remember the thief on the cross.

Earth life isn't a pass or fail test. God sent us here to gain experiences that would help us grow and develop, and to obtain a true understanding of the principles of happiness. After we die, those who wish will continue this process.

Hell is a state of mind we experience when we violate the principles of happiness.

Hell is also any place away from the presence of God. This is where people reside when they aren't willing to abide by His rules (e.g., causing misery to others).

God sees the heart.

If the man truly repents, then God forgives Him and the man probably goes to Purgatory for the final purgation before entering Heaven.

Or, if his contrition was absolutely perfect, he might actually go straight to Heaven.

Either way, there is hope. No one is ever truly alone. God is with us, even in an isolated cell.

Pax Vobiscum+

His body goes into the grave to await the resurrection. His spirit returns to the Father & awaits the resurrection.

If they man is truly saved only God knows, he will go to heaven.
Man ranks sin not God. To God a sin is a sin, to God Murder is the same asa a lie.

Depends on whether changed to bad or good.

By changed, I assume you me he has repented for his sins. I'm guessing a merciful God would welcome the man into Heaven.
