I guess its OK just not completely accurate...just remember that all warriors are soldiers, but not all soldiers are warriors....there is a huge difference.

when i think of the term "warrior" i think of the plains indians with their faces painted and riding horses. today it seems that the term is very loosely applied to encompass all people in the military. being a veteran of operation just cause (panama-89), desert shield/desert storm (saudi/iraq/kuwait-90/91), operation iraqi freedom (03-04) and now in the balkans, i can say that my actions would put me into the catagory of "warrior". i have fired my weapon in anger several times and had some returned my way as well. the only ones that i can say fit that term are the ones on the front lines that carry the fight to the enemy. and i know that i'll get a lot of feedback from the rear echelon people that will disagree with that statement but i stand by it. i've seen too many people get rewarded for doing nothing and others that go out everyday and get nothing. it depends on who you ask and what do they do. i would not use the term to describe anyone that hasn't been under fire. my opinion and i'm entitled to it.

I was in the Navy and I would have rather been called a Warrior over the other terms they called us ,, like squid or Swabbie, and I'm sure a Marine would rather be called a warrior instead of a grunt or Jar head. A coast Guard would rather be called a Warrior rather than a Mud-duck or puddle Jumper.. I would rather call them all Heroes instead of a warrior but that's just my opinion, but if you want to call your b/f your warrior I am sure he won't mind, just write him as often as possible as that is one thing our "warriors/heroes" need more than anything in the world.. Nothing brightens up a soldiers life more than hearing the words "mail call"

I never liked the word soldier. It has a bad smell. Some one who has sold himself. Sold to whom? One never knows.
On the contrary the word warrior. It is something. Made for war. Born for war. What a physique! What an attire! One would be proud to have a warrior as a son-in-low . Not a soldier.

Well if he is in the Air Force he is not a Soldier he is an Airmen.

If you want to call him a warrior......I guess you could pull that off.

Warrior is a positive term in the military.

Recently, the Army has been replacing the term "soldier" with "warrior". the whole idea is empowerment I guess - A soldier usually refers to one who stands ready, but a warrior is the one who fights as I've heard it explained.

Personally I don't like the term "warrior". When I think of myself as a warrior, I want to paint my face blue and grab a shield and a sword or a spear and jump on a horse.

yes, in the soldier's creed it starts off with : I am an American Soldier, I am a Warrior and a member of a team. So I don't see why not.

I guess it is okay. Though, I find it odd that the new pc term is "warrior." The term, to me, means one who fights. Not all military "fights." Though all are trained to fight, certainly not all do. Like my husband is a trucker, my neighbor is a nutritionist, another neighbor is mechanic. Traditionally, not "fighters" but if the Army wants to call persons other than grunts a warrior, I think it is fine. And I suppose it is equally fine for you to call your boyfriend a warrior. I would wonder if he sees himself that way before I called him one.

The whole army has changed everything from soldier to warrior - so it's what we're getting used to.
