How many hours before drinking is not considered having an empty stomach?

It's 8:38 am here and I plan on drinking at around 8pm tonight. I want to drink on an empty stomach so that I only need 3 drinks to get a good buzz. How many hours before drinking should I stop eating?

I'd say about 2 hours, but it depends on how much you eat.
