what would be the procedure? have any laws regading this process recently changed?

My company will sponsor, costs are cvered, skill is already established, I just want to know, before talking about it to anyone else, if anyone knows whether the process requirements have changed lately (1 yr or so). I heard they have....

Yes you can; your US employer would have to sponsor you for a green card. Talk to your HR dept. To gain a green card through work you must be sponsored, also make sure you discuss and agree who is paying what costs, it is not just a case of an application form for the green card, there are other expenses you will incur.
