Derms do suck! All they do is treat patients like lab rats giving them all types of medicines. Anyway I went to a spa when I started breaking out and the aestician gave me a lot of good info!! The face connects to various body parts, if your breaking out on your cheeks, well thats associated with the lungs. Try breathing properly, drink LOTS and LOTS of water!
Also get a steady regimen going and stick to it. Wash face 2-3 times a day, use products with no dyes, hyperallergenic, chemical free. Don't forget to moisterize and a light exfoliation never hurts.
I do use differen cream for sensitive skin and so far its working to strip my skin therefore revealing healthier skin...BUT everyone's skin is different. Your best bet is Relaxing-sleep,yoga, practice breathing; Water- I drink about 4-5 bottles a day; Eating HEALTHY-No greasy, fried foods, little to no dairy; and No Sodas, chocolate; Eat White Radish, Avacodos, and leafy veggies.
Dermalogica Clay cleanser is pretty nice too. Great Luck
My skin is finnally looking better and Im happy!!, If your religious, Praying Works too!

I wish you could go to my dermatologist. I had itchy patches on my skin. Before I saw him, the best advice I got was "stop scratching it." If you live anywhere near St. Louis, Missouri, it would be worth the trouble to see him.
He diagnosed me with a condition called "prurigo nodularis" and put me on medications that actually worked.
I haven't seen him in years, but if it starts bothering me again, I ask my general practictioner for a prescription for Lidex.
There's no guarantee, but you could try talking zinc tablets; it works for some people.
Over the counter products that contain benzoil peroxide are generally pretty good.
It might be a problem other than acne. It's really a shame you couldn't find a dermatologist who could help you. I went through two or three before I found one that could help me.
Oh yeah, try to eat low fat as much as possible, avoid high fat food like nuts; I had a doctor tell me that once. Excessive fat in the food can actually work with the hormones to worsen acne. I know it works that way with me.

Have you seen a gynecologist? Your problem might be hormones. Birth control pills might help you.
Start washing your pillowcase every week in HOT water with laundry soap that has no perfumes or dyes.
Wash your pillow once a month in HOT HOT water.
If your pillow is more than 5 years old, throw it away and buy a new one.
Keep the skin on your cheeks moisturized and exfoliated. Try clinique total turnaround cream every night after washing your face.
Ask your doc about using Neutrogena TSAL shampoo on your face to take off the layer of dead skin off your cheeks periodically. (exfoliate)
Last, talk to your family doc about trying a medication called acticin lotion/cream...it could possibly help if you have a problem with sensitivity to hair follicle mites.
Unfortunately, acne isn't easy to get rid of..there are many many causes, and most family docs will tell you that being on antibiotics for a long time can cause other problems.

Keep your face clear of dead skin cells, which, when they are mixed with your natural oils, makes a sticky substance which clogs pores and causes bumps. This is very tricky, because overdrying your skin will do more harm than good.
Try using an antibacterial facial soap bar, such as oxy. There are other brands, just be sure that they are antibacterial, and for the face. Like already mentioned, wet your face with a really warm wash cloth. Allow the cloth to lay long enough to open the pores on your face. Then wash with the same very warm water, and the soap. Rinse with very warm water. while yours pores are still open, apply an astringent(especially to breakout areas). Seabreeze works well. Finish by rinsing your face with cold water, to close the pores. That is the biggest reason that I went through the steps. Everyone knows how to wash their face, but its amazing how many people don't know to close their pores.
In order for your skin to heal and stay healthy, you will probaby need a really good mositurizer. Eucerin makes one for sensitive skin, thats non-oily, and also contains sunscreen. Go to a good drug store, and ask the pharmsist, if your not sure.
Back to the dead skin thing, try using "Mudd", once a week. It will dry and tighten your skin, so you can't use it very often, but in following the directions, it pulls impurities, and dead skin out of pores as it drys. Be careful not to get it to close to your eyes.
I'm in my 40's , and I still have to be very cautious of make-up, and other facial products.Pay close attention to what your using when you break out.
And of course, never, EVER, sleep in your make-up!!!

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

the simplest way is to wash your face 2 to 3 times daily with warm water and milk soap. Don't pinch the pimples away rather use a small towel to gently scrub your face. Rinse with tap water to close the pores. Be patient as this will take time until you have formed the habit of washing your face .
Stay away from fatty and/or salty foods. As much as possible do not take junk food. Eat healthy. and stay healthy.

Cut out soda and any sugars in your diet, stick to healthy foods. Drink plenty of water and twice daily, wash your face with the hottest water you can stand. Leave off the make-up and lotions unless they won't clog pores.
My little brother has wicked acne, and he did this....cleared him up in a few weeks. It won't happen overnight, and you HAVE GOT to be vigilent about. Also, don't pick. It makes it worse.
Good luck!
