Hi! There are several things here that don't really add up. First and foremost, there was no Durand-Ruel Gallery in New York until 1887. Until then the galleries were in London and Paris.
Quote: In 1886 Durand-Ruel went to New York City to exhibit the works of his painters at the National Academy of Design. The show was so well received that he established a branch of Durand-Ruel in New York City the following year.

Secondly, Cezanne was not accepted into the Salon held by Durand -Ruel in Paris. Quote: 'The first exhibition of the Societe Anonyme des Artistes Peintres, Sculpteurs et Graveurs.. opened in 1874. For Cezanne (and Guillamin), in 1874, the exhibition offered the first opportunity they ever had of showing their works in public."
The seond exhibition of the Impressionists opened in 1876 at the Durand-Ruel Galleries at 11 Rue La Peletier. Quote: Why did Cezanne continue to send his pictures to the Salon knowing they would be refused as often as they appeared before the jury?" There is no reference of Durand-Ruel's involvement with Cezanne until 1877 and that was in Paris. (Paul Cezanne - Gerstle Mack, Alfred, A. Knopf, NY). http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9903E6D9153BF934A25751C0A965948260
Third, 'Le Vase de Fleurs,' is located at the National Gallery in Washington, section 80, and was painted 1900-03.

I agree with Angela.. you need to have this picture seen by an expert to help to sort it all out.
I hope this helps!

I cannot locate your painting in the huge Tate Museum book catalogue of Cezanne's (1996.) Nor on the net list of his flower paintings - all produced after the date you mention.

I think that the only way you will get info about this painting is to let a Cezanne expert see it. Sothebys/Christie's 19th c. departments would be the way to go for advice as to where to get the material you want. They do this for free, in the hope that the client will want to sell.
