Strangley, people seem to think that Jesus Christ is religious and associate Him with religion. The fact is that is wasnt until nearly 200 years after His Ascention that the 'Christian Church' was formed, reason being that Italian gov. were so afraid of loosing their popularity and 'strength' that they decided to 'play along' to keep the peoples money controlled "The Vatican today'

Yet it was Jesus who went into the temples (of deceit and deception) and told that 'The Fathers House is a House of Prayer, not of money and deceit. Take them out of His House.'

So you see, Jesus isnt part of religion, but rather, a much needed sign (for us) to show us that we are loved and must not concentrate on material things, but spiritual things, if we are to progress as brothers and sisters, helping, sharing and caring for each other.

However you look at it and think of things, we have had so many signs sent to us, to show us that good shines the way, and that we have a part to play. Peace

Oksome people that cant understand symbolic meanings of things.

Italian government is referring to the roman empire.

After the Apostles and Initial Saints had spread the word throughout the Middle East and Asia etc. This was when people on their OWN willingness met to talk about Christ i.e. first REAL church meetings/spiritual gatherings.
Yes I am aware of what's going on in the world, but if you take the time to not be aggressive and condescending, then you will be in the right frame of mind to be open-minded, and see that our choices are OURS, and it's up to us if we do good or bad, no matter what's going on out there, it'a ll about what we do from within.
Jesus is in ALL faiths/religions/beliefs, whatever you want to call it, and our connection to Above is a spiritual one, whether we like it or not. And being agressive only makes your spiritual link weaker.
If people TRULY made the effort to GET ALONG with each other, then surely we would need to exercise our understanding

Wrong.

The concept of Jesus was copied from the the concept of Mithra.

Jesus just happens to be more popular than Mithra was. Still, it doesn't change the fact that it's false.

Because he was not sent anywhere. He never lived, he was a fictional character in a fictional story. The Catholic church was started before the bible was completed. The NT, was completed first about the year 145 CE(same as A.D.) and the OT was completed about the year 190CE, and the first churches were established in what is today Turkey. The Italian government did not start the catholic church, but when the empire was going down the tube, the leaders put most of the national treasury into the church coffers to protect it; hence one reason why the catholic church is so damn rich. Also, the RCC is nothing more than the continuation of the Roman Empire. What signs are you talking about. There is only one sign in christianity and that is that so-called sign of the cross which is also so much BS. So when you worship Jesus you are worshiping the emperor Titus and also the man who used the name Flavius Josephus.

I am happy with the concept of Jesus being a symbol of love and positive influence.
However, this whole myth about him being sent for all of our sakes etc. That is unpalatable at best and dangerous at worst.
Yes, I find it difficult to believe that so many people want to convert the non-believers. It's just symbolism and should never be forced upon anyone.

PS. Your historical references are a little askew, check out Pope Constantine, he was the one who unified various (including pagan) beliefs and set the foundation stone for Christianity as we know it today. It's a mish-mash of cultures and beliefs brought together to control the provinces.

Ultimately, your question is about "belief". Do we today, 2000 years later BELIEVE that Jesus was the Christ, sent by God to show us how to live our meager lives?
Herein, is the root problem. Many people today are to proud to think that they have to "bow down" to some kind of deity. We have come to believe in ourselves more than God and we fail ourselves every single time. Most people run folly with their lives until they find themselves are at the bottom of the barrel and then there's only place to go - you look UP!

Jesus, who was a revolutionary reformer of his time, or at least attempted to be one, could very well be the most compassionate person on earth, but his late followers demonstrated the use of fire, torture and other forms of inhuman behavior, to defame Christianity in the eyes of non Christians forever.

I am right there with you. Jesus is not in any religion and He is in all of them at the same time. He loves us all no matter how we choose to interact with Spirituality.

Peace!

Then why is he going to come and kill everyone that isn't enough of a sycophant, and bath in their blood? That's the good news of the Xtian bible, in a nutshell!

Jesus is a confabulation of several shady first century figures, with a dose of plagiarised neo-platonic philosophy chucked in.

It is odd that you accept that elements of his story are later fabrications, yet accept the reality of his temple rage!
