These are the SAME people that'll praise Marvin Hagler for knocking out Hearns (rated at welterweight) & Duran(rated as lightweight). Check this out:

Some people try to discredit B-Hop for his KO wins over Felix & Oscar. They say those guys were to small to be fighting B-Hop. But I think that's a bunch of BULL.

The last time I checked Oscar & Felix MADE weight when they fought B-Hop. When they fought B-Hop they weren't 147 they were 160. So they were MIDDLEWEIGHTS when they fought B-Hop. Saying that they were to small is RIDICULOUS because they MADE weight.

Then they say Oscar & Felix wasn't good at that weight. I say pleassssse.

Tito has 3 KO wins at 160 (W. Joppy, H. Cherifi, R. Mayorga)

Oscar has a win v.s. a good middleweight (F. Sturm)

Oscar & Felix both were vets when they fought B-Hop. I think they knew if they body felt good at that weight or not. At the time of the fight they both SAID they were ready & felt good.

So who are you guys to say they were to small. If Oscar & Felix said they were ready, then they were ready.

If Felix was to small for 160, then why is he about to move up in weight & fight RJJ at 175? And the only reason Oscar moved back down is because there was more MONEY at the lighter weight classes (PPF, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, & etc.). At 154 or 147 there is more MONEY for him then it is at 160 (make sense).

Anyways, like I wrote at the top. These same people (not tru boxing fans) will praise Hagler. And Hagler's biggest wins was over people who moved up in weight (Hearns & Duran). And Hagler even LOST to someone that moved up from 147 (Sugar Ray). At least B-Hop didn't let didn't lose to any former welterweights that turned middleweight.

Elmer that comment you said about RJJ just proves that you're not a true boxing fan. There is alot of reasons why someone could lose ONE fight. Since someone has beaten a certain person doesn't mean they are a better fighter then that person they beat. Would you consider Glen Johnson who KO'd RJJ a better fighter then RJJ or Oliver McHall who KO'd Lennox Lewis a better fighter then Lennox? NO! The way you base who's the better fighter is how they CAREER went.

BTW, look how B-Hop DESTROYED Tarver and then look how Tarver DESTROYED RJJ! If RJJ was a better fighter then B-Hop then why couldn't RJJ beat Tarver then way B-HOP did?

Elmer,
you're just an IDIOT and not a true boxing fan. Like I said, ONE lost to someone doesn't make the person who won the better fighter then that person. Like what I said before, a CRACKHEAD Oliver McHall KO'd a PRIME Lennox Lewis! Does that make McHall the better fighter? Hell No! Better yet, an OLD WASHED-UP Corrie Sanders KO'd a PRIME Wladimir Klitcho! Does that make Sanders the better fighter? Hell No! Here is another example (if you don't get it this time this will prove that you're an IDOT), Buster Douglas KO'd a prime Mike Tyson! Does that make Douglas the better fighter? Hell NO! Okay one more, Micky Ward beat Arturo Gotti in there first fight but it was proven the Gotti was the better fighter because Gotti won there last TWO. Now last say that the last 2 fights never happened, would that make Ward the better fighter? HELL NO!

BTW, it could be argued that B-Hop wasn't at his peak when he fought RJJ. Haven't you heard of someone developing year by year?

Prince,
you are DELUSIONAL as Elmer. Those are SOLID wins. Why would you discredit a fighter for beating great fighters that were able to move up in weight? And who are you to say that De La Hoya wasn't good at middleweight? De La Hoya was a VET, he know his own body, and he knows boxing better then you do. De La Hoya himself said that he was COMFORTABLE at middleweight (160 lbs.). And how many wins did Tito have after losing to B-Hop? I don't see your point in saying that..lol. Anyways, he have 2 KO wins at 160 lbs. after losing to B-Hop (Cherifi & Mayorga).

BTW, I know that you aren't trying to discredit Felix as a fighter? Anyways, Tito only have 2 loses (B-Hop & Winky) and has beaten other great fighter! Tito is the truth!

Monkey,
I don't CARE if B-Hop lost to RJJ. B-Hop also lost his DEBUT fight. But would you consider that guy better then B-Hop? NO! Another thing, at least Hopkins never been KO'd unlike RJJ getting KO'd twice back to back...Lol. B-Hop's the MAN!

Prince,
like I said, who are you to tell De La Hoya that he wasn't ready? Nuf said!

BTW, boxers will admit if they were to small for a certain weight. Look at Shane Mosley? He didn't do well at the bigger weight classes so he openly said he was to small for the weight and went back to 147. If Oscar wasn't comfortable he would of said the samething but he didn't!

The only reason I could think someone would discredit Hopkins' wins over Oscar and Felix is probably, because they both started their careers at lightweight and junior welterweight. Personally, I don't think it's really fair to discredit those wins, especially since they choice to fight Hopkins at 160 and claiming they felt good at the weight. Also both fighters were pretty much at the peak of their careers, when they fought Hopkins.

You're right, it's no different than Hagler beating Hearns or Duran. Hopkins did what he was suppose to do against Oscar and Felix. Seeing that he maybe getting discredited for beating them, just imagine how things would be with Hopkins if he had lost to one or both of them. So as mentioned, Hopkins did what he should have done regardless of what others may think.

Come on! You know Oscar didn't actually beat F. Sturm! I was going for Oscar so it pains me to admit that. I think the only way Oscar knew to go up in weight was eating candy bars because he looked FAT! I dont think he could beat any top 20 guy in 160 lbs..... So he was fighting far from a natural weight.

Felix Trinidad is just a one trick pony... Maybe he got a few wins but how many after his loss to Hopkins?

I think Hopkins is great, but those arent really solid wins... sorry, but Boxing is all about opinions right?

RJJ is overrated!

* Of course Oscar is going to say he felt comfortable! But seriously the guy looked WEAK! He wanted to take on Hopkins because he was worried about his legacy. He wanted that big challenge... And frankly he was in over his head. He had a total of 20 rounds at 160 lbs and NEVER did he land a single punch that even bothered his opponent!!! When he was fighting Sturm he looked like a kid going up against a man! and when he fought Hopkins it was the same thing!

A year or 2 before the Felix fight De la hoya had already wrote the manual on how to beat Felix!! If you follow the plan to a T any competent boxer can give Felix fits! Thats why I call him a one trick pony! Take away his power hand and he has nothing!!! He simply cannot adjust. I also think he is a legend, but since his weakness has already been discovered he needs to stay retired! Seriously he is going to get hurt against RJJ

** Elvis is the king. You can be his jester.

Didn't read everything you had to say, it's a bit jumbled and confussing.

But in what universe is De La Hoya and Trinidad comparable to Thomas Hearns? B-Hop's win over Trinidad was an all-time brilliant performance, and ODLH was holding his own before the big KO. But Hearns at 147 had the hit power of a light heavy. So B-Hop had some strong wins, some good to great performances, but nothing in the class of a Hagler or Hearns. And before you allow yourself to go B-Hop crazy, don't ever forget that Roy Jones Junior gave the primed B-Hop a lesson in how boxing is done.

**additional**

Just because you asked the Q, doesn't mean you have some kind of bully pulpit. Congrats, Tarver did wallop Roy Jones. But that still doesn't change the fact that a primed RJJ embarrassed a primed Bernard Hopkins. When both men were at the tops of their games, we saw the result: B-Hop was a good fighter, and RJJ was way, way better.

***additional additional***

Ok, King. You used your caps-lock key and showed me the error of my ways. Out of fear of you calling me "not a true boxing fan" a 3rd time, I think I'll just leave you alone. And you're no Elvis. Elvis was the TRUE KING. (see, i have caps lock on my keyboard as well)

Oscar won. I had the same score you have. Some say that Oscar ran the last 4. At least one of those rounds could have gone either way. However, there were NO two point rounds. A blind man could see that Oscar won 7 of the first 8 rounds. Do the math and Trinidad needs a knockout, or two very big rounds, after round 8. Trinidad deserved a lot of credit for his effort and the fight itself was not very exciting. It certainly did not live up to it's hype. Still, Oscar won enough of the early rounds to win the fight. Much as I'm a big fan of Trinidad, I was shocked when Tito's hand was raised.

The win over Trinidad was very impressive because at the time Trinidad was unstoppable and it was thought that Felix would KO B-hop.

The Delahoya win came as no surprise.

I don't think size played a part in the fight but Hopkins was just better.

The weigh in :

Delahoya 155lbs Hopkins 157lbs

Bernard Hopkins is the best right now but I always wonder how he would do against Marvin Hagler.
