I have a 7 month old female great dane and she's at about 93 pounds. I'm not sure how tall she is yet because I haven't measured her. Is she normal for this age?? Will she continue to grow in height? Or is she done?? She doesn't seem to have grown that much from 5 months in the height department. What age do they stop growing? She is spayed, she was spayed short of 6 months. She's our first one so I just wasn't exactly sure when they stop growing. I've done some research and keep getting conflicting info. Thanks!

Thank you for all the answers. However, I'm a little sorry I posted this question here. For all of you who want to tell me she is small for a Great Dane...ummm...duh!!! She's only 7 months old!! She's not done putting on weight...that I know...I was just asking more about if they grow more in height. She eats Eagle Pack Holistic Large and Giant Breed puppy food...so she eats EXACTLY what she should be eating. Also, for the idiot who told me that she's overweight...SHE'S NOT! She is within the normal Great Dane growth chart I just found...anywhere from 70-110 pounds at 7 months. If you are going to answer my question...know the answer please...that would be more helpful.

Marina thank you so much, I did a TON of research and reading before we bought her...so the 18 months thing stuck in my mind. That helps me confirm a lot. Thank you again.
Complete you are a complete a** hole. You are a complete jerk and I'd like to know where you get your authority. I've read some of your other answers and I don't think you know anything. I didn't get my dog to impress any little girl friends...and I know a lot more than you think. So, you can F*** OFF!!! I hope no one seriously listens to your answers.

Lotsadog thanks for the info.!! I have seen the Great Dane growth chart and she's at the higher end for her age group as far as weight so I'm comfortable with how she's growing.
I know Eagle Pack is an excellent food, I did A LOT of research before we brought her home. She also gets wild salmon oil on her meals...she's spoiled :) Oh, I'm fine with wherever she stops growing...as long as she's healthy...I was just curious. I have also heard that dogs getting spayed early makes them grow taller. Something about the change in hormones keeping their growth plates open longer or something....who knows. We love her no matter how tall she is because she's a charcater :)

Typically larger breeds tend to grow tall until about 18 months, but continue to fill out until they are three. They don't grow as quickly after about 6 months, but can continue to grow a bit.
My friends Dane was about 70lbs at 4 months, and topped off at around 160lbs

I have a 7 month old male dane pup. He's 31" at the shoulder, and 91 lbs. He is skinny as a whip, you can see every rib. But 2 vets have said that's exactly where he should be.
You've seen the dane growth chart? Seeing her every day makes it difficult to say how much she's grown or not grown if you're not actually measuring her. I think my guy hasn't changed much, but family who see him every few weeks or so are always saying how much bigger he is than last time.
Eagle Pack is an excellent food, my 3 adults are on it. I took my "little" guy off the Natural formula because it's lamb based. Lamb can sku the calcium/ phosphorus ratio in the food, which is so important for their bone growth.
He now eats Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul/ Adult formula. Sounds dumb, but it's a very good food as well, but chicken based instead of lamb.
She'll continue to gain height until about 12 months, then she'll work on filling out with muscle mass (chest, etc) until about 2 years. I know a lady who has a female dane who is 36" at the shoulder, but that's very tall for a female. Usually only the males top about 33".
There's a study that said that dogs that were spayed early tended to get taller, and stay leaner than dogs who were done later. There's a lot of dispute about this, didn't take into consideration nutrition, lines, etc. So who knows?
As long as she's happy and healthy, that's the important part ;-)

This should help. And to answer your question, yes she will continue to grow until around 2 yrs of age , and is at a nice weight now for her age.
I have had danes myself for many years, and the gaint breed growth and weigh rate is different than the standard size dogs is. They also live to be around -+ 12 years.
AGE WEIGHT HEIGHT
Birth weight 1-2 lbs
1 Week 2-3 lbs
2 Weeks 3-5 lbs
3 Weeks 4-7 lbs
1 Month 5-8 lbs
6 Weeks 10-20 lbs
2 Months 15-30 lbs 13-18 inches
3 Months 25-45 lbs 17-23 inches
4 Months 45-65 lbs 20-25 inches
5 Months 60-85 lbs 24-30 inches
6 Months 65-100 lbs 26-33 inches
7 Months 70-110 lbs 27-34 inches
8 Months 80-120 lbs 28-34 inches
9 Months 85-125 lbs 28-35 inches
1 Year 95-140 lbs 29-36 inches
ADULT
Males 135-170 lbs 33-36 inches
Females 110-145 lbs 30-34 inches

Girl M gave you the GreatDaneLady's website. Go there ASAP and browse. You can find tons of invaluable info, and he or she's very satisfactory if you want to ask her a query (despite the fact that she's terribly busy so it takes a while to get a response). Puppy hiccups are flawlessly average. My 7 month old dane pup eventually stopped his about a month in the past. He'd get them at all times, whether or not he was once consuming or now not. He'd lay on the mattress next to me, and simply begin. He also is extremly "twitchy". This is also average. At night, he will get all 4 feet kicking as rough and quick as he can. I concept he was having siezures to start with, but it was simply twitches from developing. A few pats on the rump and he settles go into reverse right into a deep sleep. We use an elevated bowl, and correctly final night obtained a unique bowl which has rounded "spikes" in it so they can not plunge the entire face in and inhale meals. Google for "Anti-bloat bowl" and it is going to come up. Just right good fortune!

First, the Great Dane is not a Large Breed dog, it is a Giant Breed dog. Where your typical large breeds (labs rottweilers) will cease growth at 12 months, our guys continue growth till approx.2 yrs of age. I own a Mastiff---he is nine months old and weighs 130 pounds. So, my dear, your Dane is nowhere near done growing.

Large breeds (technically giant breeds) are not fully finished maturing until they are between 2 and 3 years of age. Large breeds finish maturing between 18 months and 2 years. Medium breeds are between 8 months and 18 months and toy breeds are usually fully mature between 6 months and a year.
This is an interesting link although it's Irish Wolfhounds instead of Great Danes.

93 pounds is small for a Great Dane.
I've always had Labs and they grow in height until about a year old and then get more muscular and add weight until about two years old.
My Labs weigh in at around 100 pounds so your Great Dane should grow to about 150.

Not done.
100 to 120 lbs minimum.
When the dog reaches 28 - 32 inches, you'll know she is almost done growing.
Males can weigh up to 200 pounds, although that much is rare.

Most large breeds aren't totally full grown until about 2 yrs. However it does vary greatly from line to line so your best bet is to ask your dogs breeder when their dogs are normally full grown. 93 pounds isn't very big for a Great Dane.
