Faith isn't blind. When Peter was inspired to know & confess who Jesus Is, Jesus told Peter that Father God revealed this to Peter. And scripture tells us that after we are born of God (born again), our spiritual eyes are open. We were blind, but now we see.

Faith comes by hearing & heaing a Word about Christ / God. Hearing is a form of perceiving something. Hearing isn't blindness.

saved, We haven't seen the manifestation to our prayer yet. Faith is the title deed. We haven't seen the house built yet, but we have seen the evidence that a house will be built.

alwisdom, How can one truly worship from the heart someone who they can't perceive. This would be worldly wisdom. There is a Praise song, "Open the eyes of our hearts Lord, Open the eyes of our hearts. We want to see you, We want to see you."

Godless AM. That is a case of the blind leading the blind. Jesus accused the scribes during His human time on earth of this. So? That is a good example of 'blind faith'. Thanks.

seeker, Faith is trusting & obeying God and doubt is not trusting & disobeying God. Most do both of these. Some are always trusting & obeying God. Some are always not trusting & disobeying God.

Blind faith is believing something that isn't there. Something you don't sense with any of your senses, including your 6th sense.

What does the Word of God say? Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for those who come to (seek) God must believe God Is and is a rewarder to those who diligently 'seek' Him.

No where in the bible does God say we have to doubt to have faith. That the two go together. Questioning God isn't doubting God Is. We are also suppose to test the spirits to see if they come from God. Discerning of spirits is a gift of the Holy Spirit even.

Faith is blind by definition. If it's based on something valid, then it becomes ordinary belief rather than faith.

You have to have faith that the "word of god" is in fact the word of a god, which is based on nothing at all, other than someone who obvioulsy has no first hand knowledge told you it was.

Blind faith is totally mindless.

The supernatural – including God, heaven, hell, Satan and tooth fairies – is an invention of the human imagination. The following is for those who believe in the supernatural or indulge other fantasies in preference to reality.

Faith and logic are antithetical. If religious adherents would admit that they believe for PERSONAL, rather than logical, reasons, THEN they would be honest about their "faith". But it’s dishonest to claim one's faith is logical – faith is a personal position, not a logical conclusion.

Faith and doubt always go hand in hand. Faith without doubt is BLIND faith. It takes a closed mind to sublimate doubt to the point of blind faith. Normal people leaven their faith with a little common sense. Doubt always nibbles at the edges of their faith. After all, without doubt, faith would have no context, no purpose, no meaning, no point. Would it?

Because there is no evidence for anything supernatural (including God), NOBODY can claim ANY knowledge of it. Anybody who does is lying or delusional. It takes suspension of disbelief to believe in the supernatural: one must convince oneself that the impossible is possible. This is the opposite of curiosity. You have one life, one quest: yet you choose to surrender it to something you can’t possibly know anything about.

When people talk about faith, they're usually talking about the supernatural: God, angels, miracles, etc. There is, of course, lots of doubt involved because the supernatural is entirely outside the human (natural) realm. It's not so much that God or angels can't exist . . . the real point is that NOBODY has access to the supernatural and thus NOBODY knows ANYTHING about it. Anybody who claims to have faith in something he knows absolutely nothing about is actually confessing to placing his imagination before, and above, his intellect.

Imagination has its place . . . but not where life decisions are involved. Placing imagination above intellect is surrendering your quest for meaning. You are surrendering the meaning of your life to your religion; to your version of God.

And that's fine. Just be honest about it. You made a leap of faith. Your faith is a personal position – not a valid logical conclusion.

Blind faith is the belief in something that you rationally have no reason to believe in. It does not refere religious beliefs only, t can refere anything, as long as you take someone's / a book's / a documentary's words as true without giving it a thought

You have a good idea, however, by 'blind' they really mean though they cannot literally see it by the normal natural means, they see it spiritually. For the sake of argument, they call it blind for those who cannot really grasp the power of faith in a God they cannot see themselves.

The bible simply states that Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Faith is believing without seeing. Seeing and believing is fact. But we can't always live by facts, we must have faith in a God that is not seen and in His will for our lives. I think that is where it comes from.

You can hear something without having faith in it.

The things you hear in the bible have nothing else to back them up, so you have to accept them on faith. Anything that you claim you 'feel' or 'see' or 'know' related to your beliefs are all based on faith, and noone else can have proof beyond your own claims, unless they themselves 'accept' these beliefs as their own, at which time they become unobjective as well.

Yes it is. You didn't see G-d today. You didn't see Him yesterday either. You have to have faith to believe that He's still around.
