In 2005 I had open heart surgery after a minor heart attack and had open heart surgery. After the surgery I have developed a condition called Palpitation. Doctor is treating it with mild blood pressure medication but that brings my blood pressure low and some other problems start like cold legs and hands. What can I do or anybody had same experience and or cured it. Please help.

Sir,
Whatever problems you are having as a sequele of the Heart surgery, is common in all patients undergoing similar sugery, okay ? Only thing is that the "type" and the "intensity" of the problems differ from patient to patient. okay ?
Dont be impatient ! Have some confidence in your surgeon...and maybe if you feel that the medications are 'not' giving you enough relief, dont hesitate to approach him again and have a frank discussion with him...
If he is "too busy" to spare time for you, 'catch hold' of his immediate assistant and talk to him frankly and convey your apprehensions , whatever it is !
You will feel psychologically better also then...

Besy wishes sir...

Your doctor is on the right track, but he may be able to try a smaller dose or a different blood pressure medication. Beta blockers like metoprolol and calcium channel blockers like nifedipine are variously used for this condition. It may have resulted from minor damage to your cardiac conduction system due to the heart attack. It can't really be "cured," only managed. Tell your doctor you're having problems.

Where are you located? There is an ayurvedic doctor in Pune who has been treating heart patients with ayurveda since 1993 and specialised in it.
