Does anyone know the difference between wonton and wor wonton soupl? My coworkers and I noticed that both were listed on a chinese take out menu we are ordering from. I always thought it was the same thing.

Wor wonton soup is a "deluxe" wonton soup meaning it has a lot of other ingredients added - bbq pork, chicken, shrimp, veggies and sometimes noodles too... etc.

A basic wonton soup is pretty much broth, wontons and maybe added slices of bbq pork.

Edit... I hear that Wor Wonton Soup is Edwin Starr, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker's Favorite soup. (lol... j/k)

Just a note that if you come down to Asia, please don't expect to find similar versions of such soups or other Americanised 'Chinese' food eg. chop-suey. Authentic wonton soup in Asia does not contain BBQ pork slices or loads of veggies. The soup base is a clear light soup with only perhaps some spring onions as a garnish which adds to the fragrance.
