No, but I can see how it would make sense. I have hypothyroidism as well. Mine is under control (more or less). I've been on the meds for, oh, five years or so. When my thyroid is going crazy, I know it. I have a VERY strong desire to eat food, especially sweet things. I can't resist candy, breads, cheese, etc. All I want to do is shove unhealthy food into my face. That desire could easily turn into diabetes. When my thyroid is under control, I don't have such a strong urge. I HATE the taste of chocolate, always have, ever since I was a little kid....
Get your thyroid under control. Hopefully, yours is not as messed up as mine. Mine is pretty much dead, so I am on the highest dose they can give me without giving me a heart attack. A heart attack at 26 would be pretty sad.
Anyway, you should try to get your thyroid under control naturally AS WELL AS TAKING THE MEDICATION. There's a book called "Thyroid Power." You can order it on Amazon.com. It can help you figure out what foods to eat to support your thyroid better. Then there is easy stuff, like extra virgin coconut oil you can take. Talk to your doctor about the book and see if he agrees that a change in diet in addition to medical monitoring might be more beneficial to you. Once you go on the thyroid meds, it's forever and ever. I must stress that you talk to your doctor first because I can only comment on the hypothyroidism, not the diabetes. I am not well versed on diabetes and have NO CLUE what the two together are about.
Just some suggestions. You gotta take it from here. Good luck!

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/dwJzV
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

I haven't heard of that. I have a sister who has both of those conditions. While radiation therapy helped shrink and destroy the malignancies on her thyroid, she still must use diet, exercise and meds to keep her blood sugar under control.
