My Current Car is a LEMON. While looking into getting a new one, I came across to pre-owned cars. One is a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS w/ 24,134 miles @ $16, 987. The Other is a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT w/ 35,577 miles @ $13, 387. I know nothing on both, so I don't know which is the better car. If you have any comments, or suggestions to help me decide, let me know. thanks.

Currently, My Car is A 2003 Saturn L300, but it will need some minor repair work (hub barring replacement).

Those new Santa Fe's look really nice and have gotten great reviews/ratings. You can probably get a 2006 Santa Fe with the same mileage for a couple thousand less then the 2007 or the same price if you upgrade to the 3.3L V6 (I would recommend you do that unless you only drive in the city). I would never buy any Dodge product, they have a long history of low quality, lack of reliability and consistently rank low in car reviews. Hyundai's basic warranty is 2 yrs/24K miles longer then Dodge. Both cars are excellent in crashes, but the Santa Fe is much more roomy with nearly identical mpg as both are slow in the 0-60 (9.5 seconds).

I personally drive a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. We have not had one single problem with it in the 3 years we have driven it. The only thing that I would complain about is the fuel economy with the 6 cylinder engine, not too good at all. I have had several friends move from the Honda CRV to the Tucson and they have all had wonderful experiences with the Tucson over the CRV. Five years ago I would have said to buy the CRV, but the Santa Fe is now rated higher than the CRV for the 2009 model year and the Tucson is a rated a little behind the CRV. If your only concern is the gas mileage then buy a CRV it comes with a little 4 cylinder motor that is quite underpowered, but you will save lots on gas. If you want reliability for a fraction of the cost of the Honda, then buy the Tucson. Notice that I am not slamming the CRV, but you get more for your money in the Tucson. The main thing for me when I bought the Tucson was that it was much quieter on the road with wind etc. than the Honda. We found that the HOnda was quite noisy. Good luck.

Believe me, almost anything can beat a Dodge Caliber. The Caliber is a chunk of plastic with a weak engine and bad crash test scores. A Hyundai has a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty also. By the way, what is your current car?

Since you know nothing on those cars, you should do more research before you make a big decision. Here are some links I think will be useful for you:

Hyundai warranty I believe is cut in 1/2 to any that own after the original owner. 10 year/100k miles is only for the ORIGINAL owner.

I really don't like either of them because of their history but if you are set on one of the above then go with the Hyundai.
