Remember - Perception in 90% of the game.

Eco-fascist just don't want to attack Christmas. That's not how they will win the hearts and minds of the meak.

They will wait until their power base grows, and then they will outlaw Christmas lights. It will be for the common good, don't ya know......

You've brought up an excellent point. However, we must be pragmatic. If environmentalists raise hell over Christmas lights, we will alienate the public and hurt our cause. However, you can make a difference. You can go to individual store managers and encourage them to use low-power lights and/or less lights period. If enough people do this, it will make a difference. You have to pick your battles wisely or you'll win no battles at all.

I was thinking about this as I was enjoying a neighbor's beautiful holiday lights display. I have no idea what the environmental impact of all these lights are, but I'm sure it isn't good. I'd personally be willing to give up something else all year just to be able to continue enjoying Christmas decorations though.

A lot of them are going to the low voltage LED lights. They say that saves the cities millions of dollars in power bills.
