Yes - for instance, take an avocado. An avocado is very high in fat, yet it has absolutely no cholesterol. Cholesterol is only found in animal products, bear in mind.

A single ounce of avocado has 50 calories and 4.5 grams of fat (that means that roughly 80% of the avocado's calories come from fat!)

How to calculate that:

Fat = 9 cal / gram
4.5 grams of fat per 50 calories/1 oz
4.5 grams x 9 cal = 40.5 calories of fat PER 50 calories/1 oz

Yes, nuts are high in fat but have no cholesterol. Same with avocados and coconuts and olives and their oil. Cholesterol is found ONLY in animal products. No plant products contain cholesterol.

Cholesterol will only be found in animal products. Plant products can be high in fat, but won't have cholesterol. Such high-fat plant products are avocado, coconut, any nut or seed--some seeds and nuts can be as much as 70% fat by weight.

Your body can use saturated fats (such as found in tropical oils such as palm and coconut) to create cholesterol, which is how a person eating plant products might be able to raise their cholesterol level.

For the record, I cannot think of any animal products that are high in fat, yet low in cholesterol.

Yes. I really wish people didn't think fat = cholesterol. You have to have a liver to produce cholesterol, so it is ONLY found in animal products.

Vegetable based oils are fatty (and usually unhealthy), while some good fats are avocado, nuts, coconut (yes, even though it's saturated), olives, and so on.

I'm going to semi-disagree with most of the answers here.

Only animal products contain LDLP (low density lipoproteins) or "bad cholesterol". Plant based products do have cholesterol in the form of HDLP (high density lipoproteins) or good cholesterol, avocados being a great example.

Eggs are also a great example as the yolk contains LDLP and the albumen contains HDLP.

Yes take nuts, there not from an animal so no cholesterol is produced by them but they can have a high fat percentage, also avocados have a high percentage of fat in them as well.

To all the other answers: Cholesterol is found in plants! It is found not in vast amounts like in animals, but it is there. In fact this is taken from a website:

Cholesterol occurs as a component of plant membranes and as part of the surface lipids of leaves where it is sometimes the major sterol. The quantity of cholesterol is generally small when expressed a percent of total lipid. While cholesterol averages perhaps 50 mg/kg total lipid in plants, it can be as high as 5 g/kg (or more) in animals.

And yes, your body can make its own cholesterol, so we really don't need to take in cholesterol in vast amounts.

Fats are lipids. Lipids are basically produced into oils for our eating pleasure. So a good vegetable oil will be low in cholesterol (still contains a trace of cholesterol) but high in fat. And as some of the answers of nuts, seeds, and avocado is high in fats, a banana is also fatty comparatively.

Sure. Any high-fat plant product has zero cholesterol. However, it can still impact your body's cholesterol levels by stimulating or suppressing the body's production of various lipoproteins. The worst fat for you is hydrogenated vegetable fat (trans fats).

Yep. A lot of vegan foods might have fat--such as avocados, nuts, margarine, vegetable oils--but they will have essentially no cholesterol.
