They can not only be toxic but deadly. Use bleach to help control it.

Molds are typically toxigenic rather than toxic. What that means is molds MAY produce a toxin (mycotoxin) rather than actually being toxic themselves. A very damp environment with an overgrowth of mold and mildew though is certainly not going to promote good health (I'm not a doctor and am not giving medical advice).

Mold (in indoor settings, and in high concentrations) may or may not harm you, but its probably almost never good for you :)

not toxic but you are breathing in the mold spores which could cause respiratory problems
