Has anyone else experienced this? I understand there may be no answerers to this.
Christians, please don't answer if this doesn't apply to you to argue. PLEASE.

Phoenix, I'm confused. I didn't say I was someone famous in this past life.

Gypsy, are you calling me a liar? I most certainly did experience this knowledge.

Zep, could you email me with some of your experiences? I'm really interested in what you have to say.
I have a deathly fear of heights...so much so that I think a railing on an outside second-story wrap-around walking area will collapse and I will fall if I am within a couple of feet of it. I wonder if this has to do with a previous life.

When my daughter was born she was the most aware baby I (and ALL the midwives) had ever seen. She was wide awake for about 24 hours and stared all around her. I was told at the time that she was an 'old soul' and was here to do something special. She spent her baby hood checking people out and would look them over from top to toes before she would either smile or frown at them.
When she was about two and half we were driving along and she started telling me about 'waiting in the sky'. When I asked her what she meant she said, "After I died, I went up into the sky and then when it was my turn I was alive again." She has also made several references to 'my other family before' This stopped when she was about 5 or 6.
My friend's son asked her one day (at about 3) "Mum, remember when we went on the picnic to the island in the boat and it got really stormy?" When she said that she didn't remember anything like that and that she had never taken him in a boat he responded with "That's right, that was with my other family, before I was born."
I think that having kids has made re-incarnation much more believable. Over one third of the world's population belief this to be the case.

This is what Eastern countries believe as reincarnation memory. Children often remember former lives and actually, after learning how to talk, will sometimes tell a parent that, say, "you are not my mommy. When this happens the child is distracted by the parent to change the subject and act as though they didn't hear them. This memory of a former life remains with the child until around the age of four, when the memory begins to fade. I have read hundreds of stories just like this. Some children even remember their former name, parents names, where they lived and what century they lived in. It is not uncommon at all. Many people have found out about former lives by going through past life regression.
Before we leave the spirit world we choose our own purpose for this lifetime which will further our spiritual growth. We choose our own parents, our environment and the conflicts or adversity's which will teach us lessons we need to learn.

Well, I don't really remember anything, but I've been oddly comfortable around swords or types of weapons. I ended up joining the military and serving in Iraq. I wasn't one to believe in reincarnation (having been previously Christian) but I always felt like I was more mature and had a deep love for life, no matter what bad things might have happened to me. I did once say to some friends that I would ONLY believe in reincarnation if a psychic told me that I had been a warrior in all my past lives (I don't know why this was important, but I oddly really believed IF I had past lives, I fought in all of them).
So several years later, I was home in Ct, and a psychic randomly does a free reading for me. He says, out of the blue, "You know, you've fought in a lot of wars. In fact, I would say you've been in a war in all your past lives."
Totally rocked my boat. I was very surprised. On top of this, I've had two physics say that I'm an "old soul", that I keep coming back and refuse to finish whatever it is I have to finish. That makes perfect sense to me. Why move on when I'm having so much fun here, when there is so much more to experience and learn?
I've never known how much I believe of this, but both comments felt... right, you know?

Actually, children can remember past lives more than we can. Most of their stories, play and games are related to their past lives experiences, but we tend not to notice it. I totally believe you.
Most people here say they don't have memories, but if they pay attention to their dreams, especially those that repeat over and over, in general are memories from past lives. People insist on ignoring them, that's all. Blind is the one who doesn't want to see...
I have a few memories from my past life. I am sure I was betrayed or even murdered by someone I trusted. Even the idea of being betrayed brings me familiar emotions. I had depression in 2005 and I could only think about betrayal. Not to mention I have a problem trusting people.
Other than that, I always felt very comfortable with the English language, I learned it by myself when I was a teenager. I believe I lived in England or Ireland in one of my previous lives. Everything concerning those countries are very familiar to me. My husband is Irish, for example.
I was told recently that my oldest daughter who is 18 y-old and I were sisters in a previous life and I was the oldest sister, and I was always putting her in trouble. In this life, I came as her mother and my mission is to keep her out of trouble, oh boy it has been a tough task!!
Peace!

Many people across the world feel this way, particularly in their younger years. I personally have some fleeting memories of a past life (and a very unusual fear of becoming pregnant) which is probably a conflict I suffered in the past.

Many people experience this though few will remember because either we grow older we forget this experience or we are taught by our parents that this is inapproprate for society. I had those memories as a child and as I grew older I explored this theory and have more memories and know of some of my past life experiences.

I remember my mother having to sing lullabyes to my youngest sister in French for them to calm her. She could sing the lullabyes in English with the SAME music and they would not send my sister to sleep.
I have also had dreams of previous lives during which I was nothing more than a villager.....
This is not unusual at all

Are you talking reincarnation? I have an open mind, it's just that i have yet to find truth in it. I don't have any memories that suggest I wasn't the person I always was.

I believe we choose to come here to learn.
Personally, I feel very little about my previous lives, but I get where you are coming from.
And no, I can't think of anyone famous that I was in a previous life.

No. And you didn't have that experience either.
try taking the "logic" of this idea to the end.
It doesn't work. it can't work.
you have memories based on smell, taste, sight or sound, which only remind you of something you have experienced before. It seems real. It is real. they are your experiences in this life, not another.
