No I don't have any pets. I grew up with cats though. I'm a bit phobic of large dogs, I witnessed a really brutal dog attack when I was a little girl (it was a very large dog attacking a small beagle)...

I have an awesome little dog I share my life with. I suppose that, yes, I own him in the legal sense; he'd be recognized as my property if someone else tried to claim him, for example. But I certainly don't think of him as a possession. It's a reciprocal relationship: he gets his every need met and all I ask in return is what he gives willingly, which is a whole lot of love and affection.

Sorry, I'm not vegan nor do I own any pets, I do not have the time or resources to look after them well so I would consider that having a pet myself would be cruel, but I can't say that someone else have a pet is cruel as I don't know how well they would look after them.

I am a vegetarian and have a dog , a golden retriever.
I feed her on a complete dry dog biscuit mix that has fish in it not meat. She loves raw cabbage, brocolli stalks and usually has a carrot a day.....she will eat anything apart from tomatoes!!

As a vegan I own a dog named mazzy, she is my friend and companion. I know animals are not to be harmed and owned as pets but before city, cars and light man used to walk with animals as companions. Plus animals are like humans, as you get to know them you start to know there feelings if there sad, mad, happy or excited thats why I have a dog.

I don't own a pet, but I live with a cat. Many cat people, vegans and omnis will say that nobody really "owns" a cat. I must be doing something right--she's 16 years old and in fairly good health for a kitty her age.

A cat is best. You can let them wander freely but they wont run away. And you dont own a cat like you might own a dog or a bird. A cat is more of a companion, and they get the better end of the deal.

Yes I have a kitty and 3 guinea pigs, all of whom eat a vegan diet. (Please do some research before you thumbs down me.)
Our family is vegan for health reasons, but primarily because we are horrified at the way animals are treated. Likewise, we have animals who will live full, happy lives with us, because we wouldn't want them to die at a shelter just because people are too dumb to get their animals fixed.
