Yes, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't also do hard time for their crime. There are consequences for sin. David had already repented, and been forgiven, for committing adultery with Bathsheba and having Uriah murdered; but, David still had to pay the consequences for that sin. His first born son, by Bathsheba, died -- even though David begged God for the life of his son.

God bless.

I would be extremely hurt by what the criminal has done.

Hating the criminal would not bring back my loved one from death.

As hard as it would be, I would forgive the criminal that killed my loved one because:
1. That is what Jehovah God would want me to do, (Matthew 6: 9-13).
2. Hating a person all the time takes entirely too much energy.
3. I am still alive and need to continue to live the rest of my life.

Jehovah God would help through this terrible experience. On Him I would throw all my feelings of anxieties.

If it was a deliberate act definitely not, if it was a genuine accident maybe, if it was an accident but the cause was due to really bad choices or incompetence on the part of the perpetrator probably not. I certainly would not forgive because a book told me to.

But then again: what is forgiveness?

What benefit would it be to live in anger? You should forgive, but that doesn't mean that you should forget. If you are constantly thinking of the criminal then he has killed your loved ones, and taken away your life as well. Don't give the criminal two victims.

Yes

First I would need to have judged the action as bad or unacceptable for forgiveness to be called for.

I hope that I would never be that confused to think such a thing.

Yes, The Lord said it is better to forgive then to Haber grudges that would bring us to a level of hate. you have to remember what God did. sent his only son into the world not to condem toe world, But to redeem it.

Nope.
If it were by accident, then, maybe. But, again, most 'accidental homicides' have some other factors involved- like they were driving drunk.

I already have. My nephew Scot was shot and killed two years ago Oct. 10 of this year. I have forgiven his killer.

On purpose or by accident? That would weigh heavy on my decision.
