Hi Jacinda.

It's hard to tell someone how to lose weight. Each person has a different situation.

However, there are some basic things to do or not do. For example, do not eat junk foods like sodas, chips, candy, ice-cream, etc. Do not eat fast foods like McDonalds or Burger King or any of those places.

Try to eat healthier. Do not skip meals because that will slow down your metabolism. Eat breakfast every day to start your metabolism working, which will burn off calories. Try cereals like Special K, Total, Bran Flakes, etc. Eat a bowl of cereal with skim milk. Instead of sugar, try Splenda, which tastes just like sugar

Have a light snack between breakfast & lunch. A piece of fruit & a quarter cup of almonds is OK. A yogurt is good too. For lunch, try light foods, like a turkey sandwich. Or eat what you think is healthy, but stop eating when you are no longer hungry. You don't have to finish everything.

Again, have a light snack between lunch & dinner. There are many things you can have. Since you are young, your parents probably make your dinner. Don't have 2 servings of anything. It also helps to drink a lot of water throughout the day, especially with your meals.

Of course it's important to exercise. You can try sports or many other things. Whatever you choose to do doesn't matter; what's important is that you do exercise.

If you follow these basic rules, you can lose weight.

I hope it works for you. Good luck.

We need to know your height. If you are 5 foot 8 you are not fat. But if you are five foot you are a little hefty.

The greatest thing about weight and still growing is that the only thing you have to do is STOP GAINING. You really do not have to lose. Just stop eating any fast food or junk food and no second servings. Other than that stay active, sports, bicycling or anything to burn calories.

Here is a simple rule on height and weight.
5 foot equals 100 pounds.
5 pounds for every inch over five feet. For girls.

Guys can be 7 to 10 lbs for every inch over five feet.

Good Luck.

It isn't a secret. Balanced diet, consisting of lean meant, vegetables, fruit, skim milk and whole grains; control the size of portions (most people eat 2 to 3 times the amount they should) for example 1/2 cup of vegetables is a serving. Avoid fried foods, sweets, junk food, candy and soda. You can reward yourself with a treat once in a while like some fat free ice cream. Drink water.
Exercise at least 1 hour daily, walk if nothing else, or you can ride a bike, swim or play tennis.
