my condition may not be common, but that may make it obvious. I can pop my chest(mid area, above sternum) when ever fluid builds up. Why? Thank you.

What do you mean by your chest pops? If you have fluid in your chest , then you might hear what they call crackles with a stethoscope.( like wadding up a piece of saran wrap noise).

When does it pop? - When you take a deep breath? When you twist or stretch? Is there pain? Where in your chest, along the breastbone, in the rib cage? Do you have trouble breathing? Do you have a cold? Have you been injured?

May be you should see a doctor.
