It's prudent to begin working towards mitigating the human contribution to global warming, which I think is there, but only a fractional addition to the phenomenon. Still, we should be good stewards of our planet for future generations.
I am certain that the global warming issue is being handled emotionally by most parties involved. The potential for mismanagement and wrong headed panic legislation and measures grows. It seems every one has an agenda driven view on the topic, and nearly no one is willing to take an objective look and discover the facts.
My friends and I have never been wasteful, we recycled, and watched our energy use, and were thoughtful of our impact on the planet years before it was chic to do so. And we didn't need the guidance of any ultra-green fanatics to do it.

Defininatly not a waste of time. It is a good question....so many people think that it doesnt madder because they think that they wont be around to experiance the result of globle warming. What they dont understand is: that it is their planet too, its all of our planet and it is our job to take care of it. For example an idea that I had that no one else cares about is: Its great that we recycle things like glass bottles and such but why do we recycle the bottles and use energy to melt them down into new bottles.. that is unessisary energy that is being used. they should have people send the bottles back. There would be plenty of people that would and it makes sence. Thats what some farms do.

It is defiantly not a waste of time ,time is all we have .we need to start taking care of what we do by taking an active role in global warming. Be prepared and try your best to recycle . If everyone started to recycle that alone would make such a difference. Large ships need to stop dumping sewage into our oceans! Make Earth Day last for a month! things like that would help.

Why should we stop global warming? For most of the last 2.5 million years the earth's climate has been far colder than it is today. Believe it or not, places as diverse as Minnesota and Belgium were once buried under hundreds of feet of ice. I know that seems preposterous, but that is what happened. Our cave-dwelling non-SUV-driving, freezing-their-tails-off ancestors invented fire for the specific purpose of melting glaciers to make the earth a nice habitable place. Now we've got Al Gore who wants to roll back progress and return us to the day when massive ice sheets cover our homes. Help stop global cooling, buy an SUV and drive it.

We cannot do much any more about stopping Global Warming .maybe we can slow it down a bit ,
Humanity on global scale is not co operating for a bundle of reasons ,such as politics or poverty.
But we can do a lot about not damaging the Environment more, and be more frugal or economic with our Natural resources ,since we get an additional 70 million people every year with an accumulative factor included ,who eat drink ,destroy and contaminate
And we can do a lot about contaminations, especially of the soil,Air and water.

No such thing as portrayed by Al Gore. The change in temp. is a cyclical process of nature and the scare about global warming is being done in order to distribute wealth from the US and other prosperous countries to the less fortunate countries.

It is my belief that we should clean up the environment, but not because of global warming. That is, to my opinion, a natural cyclic process that is being mischaracterized by people seeking grant money for studies and for people trying to force the USA down to their level.
We should clean the air because pollution is a known HEALTH hazard. If it actually happens that it helps with global warming, then we've killed two birds with one stone. (Oh, wait... this is the environment forum. Killing birds might be a no-no.)

I think people have an impact on the earth, and there are things that can be done to slow down the human effect, but I mostly believe what is happening to the world is cyclical. It would be occurring whether we were here or not. I don't really think about it.
