i went to the doctor because for the last 2 or so weeks I have had constant pain in my chest like a belt tied round it compressing, sharp stabbing pain just to the left of my breastbone. the pain increase when im running etc and goes when im resting. a few days ago i had to run for a train and the pain got very bad, my breathing became rapid and i became very dizzy. i now get dizzy most times i stand up. i explained this to the doctor but he just said that i had low blood pressure ~ 80/40, he did not mention if this was a cause for concern but im still worried it's something more than just that! im only 16 this is not supposed to be happening at my age!

My chest pain was due to acid reflux, but it is always best to have a workup.

I would insist your doctor do a stress test on you. Echo Stress Test.

If you eat salty foods, that will cause your blood pressure to go up. My boyfriend has to drink Gatorade in the summer because he gets low blood pressure. I have orthostatic hypotension which causes my blood pressure to drop when I first stand up. I have to stand up slowly sometimes.

I would either go back to this doctor and have him/her answer your questions. (Don't ever be afraid to ask questions, it is your body, not theirs. You know when something is not right.), or go to another doctor. INSIST on them doing something since you are having all these problems. Make them find the answer to your symptoms.

I will pray for your good health.

you explained the dizziness to the doc, did you tell him about the sharp stabbing pains, compression feeling, and the rapid breathing?

GO TO THE DOCTOR!!! Pain is an indicator that something is wrong. You need a good physical & blood work to find the problem. Tell your parents & make an appointment. Good luck!

It's called hypo tension and it is a cause for concern. Check the link. It will explain it much better than I can here.
