Are you bringing up any secretions with your cough? It sounds to me like you're still sick (because of the cough you have). Go back to the doctor if you are bring up secretions and the color is anything but white or clear (I'm sorry if this is grossing anyone out. I have to go there). You may need antibiotics.
As for what helps to clear your voice... I used to sing and the day of my performance I would start sipping warm tea. Since you don't like tea this obviously won't work for you. However, I then would suck on a lemon starting 30 to 45 minutes before my performance because it cleared my throat. It did make a difference in my singing voice using the lemons.
Best of luck to you!

Hopefully it will clear up by Wednesday. Try cammomile tea with honey.

If on Wednesday, your throat is still scratchy, boil some water and disolve Halls drops (or other strong menthol type lozenge) in the boiling water. Inhale the steam from the boiling water and at least for a period of time, your throat should be a bit better..

A serious question. Have you by any conversation upheld the NIV, NASV, ASV, NISB, NKJV Bible above the KJV. Men of God have lost their voices because of their association with these copyright Bibles. Adding and subtracting from the word of God.

The KJV King James Version is not BOUND (2 Timothy 2:9)
by any copyright laws.

Luke 1:20 "And behold, thou shalt be dumb(mute), and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season (own time)."

Father, in Jesus' name, if this man is not guilty heal his voice before his solo wednesday night. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

If you have not sinned against God, then crush a clove of garlic and mix with 2 tablespoons of honey and eat.

I sing for my school, and when I had a cold the instructor told me to stay quiet for a few days and drink some herbal tea. It worked! I just hated drinking the tea.

I would talk as little as possible, and drink lots of hot tea. That usually helps. Stay away from dairy products, they will only make your voice worse.
Good Luck!!

Get back to your doctor! Get some meds for anti-viral purposes. Expensive, but they are the only way to get faster results.
