.. No, they will show some calcium deposits but there is no way of telling the percentage of blockage there is. The only sure way is an invasive catherasation,or angeogram. They do this now as an out patient or one or two day stay. All the test are just one indicator of several test but not a positive result in the problem you may
have. A lot of the test are more of a money maker for the medical industry.
Sincerely yours,

A cardiologist can perform a procedure called an angiogram. This test can show blockage in arteties. It isn't too bad-a cathetor is put in the groin area and then contrast die injected can show where you have blockage if you do. If the tests you have prove nothing, that would be the next step. It is not without risk, however. Sometimes blockage can "break loose" travel and cause stroke. It is a one day procedure. Also, you can have blockages in other parts of your body, ex. corodid arteties-neck, that can be checked. Good luck-very best to you!

The only tests that will show blockages would be a cardiac catherization also known as coronary angiogram, or a new test called a coronary CT scan. The other tests that you mention above can look for potential problems, but do not look at the arteries.

They would not show the blockage but they may show the effects of blockage (such as damage experienced).

Coronary angiography is done to find a blockage in the coronary arteries, which can lead to heart attack. It may be done if you have unstable angina, atypical chest pain, aortic stenosis, or unexplained heart failure.
