It's a vegetarian thing, you wouldn't understand.
Hey, wait, your name is "sweet pea."
Tofu is a high protein food product made from soy beans. The typical consistency is like soft cheese, but there are firmer variations.
It was orginated in China hundreds of years ago.
Tofu is often reviled and many people don't like it. I love the stuff, personally.
Lately, there has been a lot of bad media hype regarding soy products (makes men feminine, gives you cancer, gives you thyroid disorders, and "fermented" soy is good for you while the others kinds aren't): this is all nonsense and quack medicine.

Tofu, also known as soya curd, is a soft cheese-like food made by curdling soya milk with a coagulant. Tofu is a rather bland tasting product that easily absorbs the flavours of the other ingredients.

Tofu (the Japanese Romaji spelling), also known as doufu (the Chinese Pinyin spelling often used in Chinese recipes) or bean curd (the literal translation), is a food of Chinese origin,[1] made by coagulating soy milk, and then pressing the resulting curds into blocks. There are many different varieties of tofu, including fresh tofu and tofu that has been processed in some way. Tofu has very little flavor or smell on its own, so it can be used either in savory or sweet dishes, and is often seasoned or marinated to suit the dish.
The production of tofu from soy milk is similar to the production of cheese from milk (Fermentation), although some tofu is made by processing non-soy products, such as almonds or black beans.Tofu is low in calories, contains beneficial amounts of iron (especially important for women of child bearing age) and has no cholesterol. Depending on the coagulant used in manufacturing, the tofu may also be high in calcium (important for bone development and maintenance), and magnesium (especially important for athletes). Tofu contains soy isoflavones, and the safety of consuming isoflavones is questioned.

It is made from soy. Recent research shows it is dangerous to eat too much of it.
Tofu is a "condiment" rather than a staple. Only westerners misuse tofu. You can check the research by serious research universities . . . much more reliable and "scientific" than anybody with 1 year of nursing school or a dietician wife.
BTW ... Dr. Mercola is a commercial fraud.

Its not a "vegetarian thing", I believe that the Japanese have been using it for a very very long time as part of their diet.

Bean curd.
Nesmith, honey, if you have no idea what it is, why would you say it's nasty? Your ignorance is showing, and it's not cute.
