why do people presume the word std is related with sleeping around being a skank as I was called when asking a delicate question on chlamydia.
Some people are so ignorant it is easy to only have 2 partners in the whole 10 years of being sexually active and trusting one another to have unprotected sex! and both being clueless of having anything or please tell me is this unacceptable should people be slated?

that is wrong of them but usually it is associated with those type of people. people can't get past stereo types they are so blissfully ignorant and need to be educated. and i'm sorry to hear that ( if you do have it)

people are very ignorant when it comes to educating on STDs. a few things for you to consider is this. Although YOU may have only had two partners in 10yrs of being sexually active you have to consider who they slept with prior.
If your two guys each slept with 5 girls that means you kind of slept with all twelve people (the ten girls + your guys) thats unless EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY WERE PROTECTED with a condom. if they used protection on some of them and not others and then only some of the time used protection with you then you left the door open for anything to be passed to you. The guys could be a carrier and never get anything just pass it along without any knowledge b/c they could never have a symptom their whole lives.
Anyhow, I understand what you mean though, I had a prior 6 yr relationship and was getting married, little did i know there was about 5 other girls that he was messing with. needless to say i immediatley went to my OB/GYN and got tested for all STDs. He was so understanding and helpful when i explained why i was doing it. I get tested every year since we split, 4 yrs now and I am clean and clear... I hope you are too!
Good Luck to you!

There are STDs out there that there is no way of knowing when you got it or who gave it to you. HPV is an STD that you could have gotten from the first guy you slept with but it didn't show up til years later. There are people in the world who get AIDs the first time they have sex. Just because you have an STD doesn't mean that you are a skanky whore.

I understand what you are saying. When I was in my early twenties I was diagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and like you said, assumptions were made. I did not sleep around. People need to realize that for 10 years, who ever you have slept with or they have slept with is kind of still with you. So things are brought into monogamous relationships years down the road.

People just don't know enough about STD's and AIDS. You can get an STD and still be a virgin.
You can get AIDS before being born.
As a society, we do not teach our children about the real world and the real dangers in it. We don't need to be alarmist, we don't need to be scary, just give real information at age appropriate times.

Sadly thats the ignorance of our society. We live in an age where people have forgotten how to be civil to one another. The best words spoken were "Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone" (Jesus).
Always remember to not let them bring you down, you obviously know better and stooping to there level is not worth it. Stay strong and always take the high road.
Good luck

Yeah I don't know why people think that. It only takes one time having sex to contract a STD. A girl can be losing her virginity and wind up with herpes or something to that nature. It's just another stereotype going on in the world. People who think that though are very uneducated about sex and diseases.

dont be so sure that your partner was faithful.
I am having a hard time believing that one or both of you had chlamydia for TEN YEARS!
the 'attitude' that you are hearing might be that people think you are crazy to believe the line of bull your man of ten years is telling you

well.... the odds of contracting an STD are greater the more partners you have had.
its not to say that it cant happen if youve been in monogamist relationships, but its just more likely to happen if you sleep around. Thats where the stereotype comes from.

Yes! you are right. I was with a man for years and he "burned" me but that was because of something he was doing, not me. But regardless of how you caught it, Its nobodys business anyway. Its your life, as long a you treat the problem on a timely basis, who cares. You are you, and you know where you've been. Dont loose focus of yourself, take care of you~.
