Use a saline nose spray! It sounds really gross but it works incredibly. I felt soooooooo much better after using it. My nose was clear and I got better much more quickly than normal. Now I always keep one in the house just in case.

People in India and other Asian countries have been using nasal flushes for forever to prevent the spread of illnesses. You can find it on the internet in its more traditional form called the "Neti Pot." Oprah had it on her show not too long ago. I prefer the more contemporary, quick, and just as effective nasal spray, which you can find at drugstores like Rite Aid and Walgreens. One brand is called "Simply Saline."

Using it is slightly uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it quickly - by like your second or third time using it. Trust me, if you follow the directions, you'll feel TONS better 5 minutes after using it. Just in time for your date.

Hope this helps! =]

Take an antihistamine (non drowsy) and gargle some salt water. The sore throat won't go away but it may feel better and your nose will dry right up.

Call your date, and tell them that you are beginning to get a cold. Give your date the option of calling it of and rescheduling. If you have been "dating" for a while, perhaps instead of going out your date may want to just rent a DVD and grab some pizza and join you for a nice night "in".

Nothing. (Kissing probably won't be a good idea). But you'll get to clearly see where his heart is. Good luck...and get well soon.
