I have extremely low blood pressure and take medication for it, it gets so low I faint, around 4 times per day. I am dealing with it alot better now as its been two years. Theres not alot you can do with regards to eating etc. But when you feel faint, lie down and elevate your legs, this helps the blood travel back around your body and bring your bp back up. I also have to take extra care when I get too hot and showering etc. You just need to be extra cautious, but if things get too bad I would def ask to see someone about it. If you want any more tips etc I can dig out the list of things my Consultant gave me to prevent the faints and forward it to you.

It's actually quite common, basically when you are lying down, your blood pressure (BP) is stable, because your heart isn't having to work as hard to pump blood to your brain, if you suddenly stand up, some people faint, and this is just your bodies way of saying stop, and you find your lying back down into the position where your BP is stable again.
To stop yourself blacking out every time, just get up slowly or tense up your leg and arm muscles before making sudden movements from lying down to standing up! If it keeps happening go to your GP and he may give you some meds, but it is generally better to have a low BP than a high one.

I have this problem too - it's important to keep yourself well-hydrated. When you aren't taking in enough fluids your blood pressure can drop further, and I have a tendency to pass out in the middle of the night if I am sick and haven't been drinking enough water. Try keeping a drink with you at all times, and see if this helps.

There's medication available to treat low blood pressure, but no foods that are effective. Salt raises blood pressure, but its effect only lasts an hour or two.

My name is Ariel, I'm a neutraceutical consultant and I would like to ask what your doctor has to say. Please tell me you are seeing one. That symptom can be associated with everything from heart disorders to hypoglycemia (Your pancreas produces too much insulin = burning too much sugar and therefore lowering your sugars) That can eventually turn into Diabetes type 2. Please see a physician.
In the mean time, should be on Immunocal. My company makes it and its the best thing to raise Glutathione levels. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant made by the body it self, and therefore it will balance you out and protect you from just about all diseases cellularly. Tell your doctor to look it up in his PDR (Physicians desk reference book)

I have the same problem. All it is is your B.P. drops. You have to learn to rise slowly every time you are reclining or sitting. It's better to have a low B.P. than a high one.
