I test her blood at home, just started this week. I noticed she was a bit weird tonight and tested her blood sugar which was 2.5 (too low!) and gave her food which she instantly ate. Long story short, she got lower and now she is siting at 2.2. She is alert and awake, she is licking honey off of my finger. How long will it take for her blood sugar to go up enough for me not to worry that she will have a seizure if I go to sleep?Should I give her more honey?

I would go ahead and rub more honey in her mouth until it reads normal. Watch her through the night and make sure that she has access to food the whole time.

Have you called your vet?

I have only dealt with human diabetics. It sounds like she may have been given too much insulin. I would continue giving more honey. I assume cats are similar to humans in that high blood sugar is less dangerous in the short time than a very low one.

It is best to call your vet or an animal hospital that is still open.
