If one reduces his use of energy, there is no cost related to the reduction. If one reuses something which has already been made, there is no further use of energy. If one recycles, there is a cost of collecting the item and energy to convert the recycled material into a useable product.No energy is expended if an item is not used.

Reduce or reuse, as recycling uses up energy in the process as well.

1. refuse - products that cannot be recycled or are not sustainable
2. reuse - unlimited potential
3. reduce - your amount of consumption by not being a conspicuous consumer
4. recycle - You get the idea.
