What about a nice crab spread and crackers? Some recipes use the imitation crab and it is very good, here is one:

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 green onions, chopped
4 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 pound imitation crabmeat, chopped
5 drops hot pepper sauce

DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, blend the cream cheese and sour cream. Mix in the celery, green onions, lemon juice, Cheddar cheese, imitation crab and hot pepper sauce. Serve chilled.

Ham roll-ups. Get ham sliced at the deli. Spread each piece of ham with cream cheese (I prefer the whipped). Place a green onion at the end and roll. I place them in the fridge for a few hours and then cut them into slices.

Happy Holidays!

BLT Dip

1 part sour cream
1 part light mayo
real bacon pieces, not crunchy bits
shredded lettuce
diced tomatoes

Mix and chill sour cream, mayo and bacon. One hour before serving add lettuce and tomato. Mix and chill until ready to serve. Serve with baked tostitos or a similar chip.

I always bring a cold pasta salad- people always appreciate real food at these events and not just desserts.

If you don't want to make something just stop off at your store and bring potato salad or something like that.
