Will the vitamin do any good if taken with junk food or do you HAVE to take it with an actual meal?

This is why people have to take vitamins. They just all want to eat cake and be healthy. Now if you ate one of my chocolate seaweed quinoa cakes then maybe you can go without the vitamins!

Taking with food means that your stomach will get upset with you when you take it. It also means that your stomach has to be in a digesting mode for you to utilize all the vitamins that you just took. Just because you stick a vitamin pill in your mouth doesn't mean that your body will digest the vitamins and use them. Some people can not digest certain kinds of vitamin types (like calcium carbonate for calcium for instance. The calcium can not be used so it is placed in soft tissues and creates heel spurs, etc.) so try different kinds (the whole food ones were made for this fact, so your body doesn't have to digest synthetically made vitamins). So you can use cake, but all that white refined flour and white sugar and the trans fat shortening will not help in digestion of the vitamins, but it will coat the stomach so you won't get a stomach ache.

Yes, something that has substance, like cake, is something you could take it with. Something small like candy wouldn't count. You need something that'll take up some room in your tummy, something for it to absorb so it's not just the vitamin in there.

No. "Let them eat cake!" (I coudln't resist) You can eat anything you want, but if you are taking vitamins for a healthy lifestyle it kinda defeats the purpose. They suggest you eat them with food because they can make you nauseous.

I don't think it makes any difference. Taking a vitamin on an empty stomach might make you naseous or something like that; that's probably why they say that.

You can eat cake.... but it would be better for you if you ate actual food instead of junk food!

cake is an actual meal....its the dessert part...hehe

"Cake" ... especially chocolate cake is the perfect food ... and vitamins work best when taken with a big slice of mult-layered chocolate cake.
