yes i have had them for a foot wound. i went once a day for 2 hours to get my iv. i also had the hyper Barret treatments. that is where they put you in this coffin like tube that they fill with pure oxygen. unfortunately it did not help me i ended up losing my left leg about 4 year sago. please keep doing what they tell you to do so you can keep your leg. good luck to you. god bless you.

I have administered it as well as received it. There's nothing to worry about. They put in the IV and if you are lucky leave the IV needle (often called a pick site) in so you won't have to be stuck repeatedly. It's so much better to be able to do this as an outpatient. Who wants to stay in the hospital. Getting meds thru an IV are quicker and more effective. GL

I don't know about this iv treatment you're on. Every time they put in the hospital they pump nitro into me. Later they say just indigestion but change my heart medicine. Either they don't know what's wrong me or they are not telling. Hope this helps.

If you are going to have long-term IV therapy,I strongly suggest that you talk to your doctor about having a PICC line or central catheter (central line) placed. This would mean that you would not have to be stuck repeatedly for IVs. Just a warning though...an indwelling catheter if any kind is a portal for infection so be advised.
