It is completely possible to get an STD from an infected person, who is not showing symptoms. Just to give an example, 25% of people in the US statistically have genital herpes, yet of that 25%, 90% percent don't know they have it and show no symptoms. I was infected by someone who showed no symptoms. I got tested for STDs and HIV regularly before getting involved in a relationship, as did the person I was dating, but a regular STD test doesn't cover all STDs.
Be careful, always use a condom, no matter what. Hope this helps.

Uninfected, no. Asymptomatic (no symptoms) Yes
the warning on the ads mentions that herpes can still be passed on even tho the medicine suppresses the symptoms.
syphilis can lie low and be passed on or not, although catching it more certain when symptoms (sores) are showing.
I suppose it is theoretically possible for person C to get it by having sex with person B who is uninfected because they had sex just previously with person A who is infected. For example, Mary has sex with Joe then a few minutes later (sl*t) with Sam. If Joe has STD in his sperm and fluid is still in Mary's vagina and Sam has damage to his penis, then he could get the STD and Mary never does.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are passed from person to person during sexual activity. STDs such as chlamydia and gonorrhea are caused by bacteria. Single-celled organisms called parasites cause trichomoniasis. Genital herpes and human papillomavirus (HPV) are caused by viruses. The HIV virus, responsible for causing AIDs, is one of the deadliest STDs.
Educating ourselves about the signs and symptoms of STDs is so important. Learn more at iVillage's Total Health STD & Genital Infection Center. Feel well!

Anything is possible; but, since STD is synonymous for Sexually Transmitted Disease, it seems highly unlikely that someone could get such from an un-infected person.

Strangely enough, yes. They could merely be a carrier. What are their sexual habits and how's their hygiene?
