We were doing science projects in school today. One guy was checking people's blood pressures for his project. My heart rate was 105 and it went up to 108 after an energy drink. My friend's heart rate was 120 and she's thin too. I got back home and I checked again and now its 91. I'm 14, weigh 131 which is normal for my height. I have been experiencing a lot of stress in school because finals are coming up. My mom has heart problems. Can this be because of the stress? Please help..

The norm is between 100 and 120 for daily life, with 70+ for a resting beat. To actually get a "workout" your heart rate has to hit over 130, with 150 being a great cardio workout.

You'll be fine.

Your heart rate changes minute by minute in response to activity, stress and emotions. The only accurate heart rate is after you sit quietly for 10 minutes and do not talk. Normal rate is 60 - 100

105 isn't really high, especially if you're under pressure or up moving around. I wouldn't worry unless you see sudden increases in your heart rate for seemingly no reason. If you're sitting there and your normal HR is 80 and it jumps to 140 then you might have a reason to get checked out. Hope this helps and if you're still worried it never hurts to get checked.

A heart rate of 91 is not too bad. Your pulse is what you are looking for. That is average, not dangerous..
