My friend is turning 21 and we want to throw her a surprise party. We have not/can not decide where to have it. One person said they would like to have it at a pool hall (its a nicer pool hall), but they have a cover charge for minors(which some of the people coming will be minors). The person that suggested that said that they would pay the cover charge for all the minors, but even at that some minors do not want to go to a bar type place. What do you suggest? Would it be best to have it at a persons house? Should I try to get it at an eatery? ideas? thought?

Are you kidding? All 21 yo birthday parties are supposed to be held at bars, and everyone attending is expected to be 21.

Since you have a mix of guests (over and under 21) the best place would be a restaurant that served liquor (like TGI Friday's or Red Robin) that way you have no cover there is plenty off food and those who are of age can have a cocktail and those who do not can have a mock-tail or whatever. Most of the "family" restaurants that also have alcohol also have a special drink for the 21yr old and will be happy to set up your party. A favorite gift I like to present is a bottle of Cordon ***** Brut - signed by all the guests with a gold felt pen it is always a hit and a nice keepsake even if the guest of honor never drinks it. i might say a sleepover is acceptable, which you will take her finding before than, and permit her go with nutrients for the occasion, pizzas, burgers, muffins, etc... you have a barbeque exterior if its high quality and you have a great sufficient backyard? permit her come to a decision on some decorations for the place of abode and hep placed them up, purchase some disposable cameras so that they are able to all take snap photos!
